Now, IShowSpeed appears to be teasing a new collaboration with Fortnite, despite the game doing no such thing. In a recent stream, IShowSpeed says, “Speaking of Fortnite…I don’t want to say anything, but let me just do this,” and he winks a bunch of times. It’s not clear what else that could even mean. He’s not a music artist, so this wouldn’t be some Festival thing. Far less famous content creators have gotten skins and/or events in the game, and well, it’s a pretty obvious conclusion. IShowSpeed has grown an enormous online footprint. 2.45 million Twitch followers, 41.3 million TikTok followers, 41.8 million Instagram followers and 45.1 YouTube subscribers. He’s toured the world in a number of viral videos and has a number of skits showcasing his surprisingly amazing athletic prowess, often against professional athletes. Speed has a history with Fortnite; playing there produced some of his most famous reaction memes and helped him grow his audience. Fortnite is always pursuing top creators for collabs, and him getting on board makes sense. Here’s a list of other creators who have gotten collabs so far: Ninja Loserfruit Lachlan TheGrefg Lazarbeam Bugha Chica Ali-A Mr. Beast Flakes Power Khaby Lame Nick Eh 30 El Rubius Kai Cenat Mr. Savage That’s actually more than I thought. He is now one of the most famous streamers in the world, but five years ago, he was sitting around playing Fortnite.

Here’s a list of other creators who have gotten collabs so far:

  • Ninja
  • Loserfruit
  • Lachlan
  • TheGrefg
  • Lazarbeam
  • Bugha
  • Chica
  • Ali-A
  • Mr. Beast
  • Flakes Power
  • Khaby Lame
  • Nick Eh 30
  • El Rubius
  • Kai Cenat
  • Mr. Savage

That’s actually more than I thought. I’ve definitely missed some of these over the years. The biggest one there is Mr. Beast, the most popular YouTuber there is. Having a similar online presence to IShowSpeed these days is Kai Cenat. All of this leads to the idea that Speed is a very logical choice for a skin.

Fortnite is wrapping up a long, long list of skins for its Fortnitemares Halloween event. It was led by one celebrity, Doja Cat, and got all the way to Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, using her likeness. In between were icons like Jason Voorhees and Art the Clown from Terrifier.

But it will be time to move on come November. The collab is likely not for some time, as leakers are pretty good at digging out skins that are almost ready to go. I would expect Fortnite itself to start teasing this in the coming weeks. Also, given Speed’s MO, I might expect a larger scale event with him in real life other than just the skin hitting the store. Maybe he jumps over Tim Sweeney or something. We will probably find out pretty soon here.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
