The INE announced that the analysis of the feasibility of electronic voting has been intensified, particularly of voting via the Internet; however, it warned that the eventual implementation of Internet voting in national territory is unfeasible, as it requires regulatory, operational, registration, and technological conditions that are not fully configured today.

In turn, the General Council of the INE endorsed the limits for private financing to parties for 2026.

The electoral body detailed that political parties will be allowed to receive up to 147 million 363,032 pesos, in cash or in kind, from their membership and in contributions from supporters, in cash or in kind, the limit will be 66 million 97,872 pesos and 30 cents.

It was also indicated that the individual contribution of supporters may not exceed three million 304,893 pesos and 61 cents in cash or in kind.
