What is Solana Seeker (SKR)?
Solana Seeker is the “ultimate Web3 mobile device” powered by SKR, the native asset of the Solana Mobile ecosystem. It’s a pure Web3 smartphone built from the chip level to optimize hardware and software integration for crypto, featuring the Seed Vault hardware wallet, a Solana dApp Store with over 100 apps, and a Genesis Token NFT for exclusive rewards.
The current dual monopoly on mobile devices (Apple and Google) controls app distribution lists, payment terms, and enforcement rules, charging a 30% fee and restricting purely crypto-focused features. Typical app stores may impose limitations and censorship on crypto features while taking a large share of developers’ revenue. Users don’t own or have equity in the value they create through interacting with the platform.
Solana Seeker addresses these challenges by building an open mobile platform where SKR distributes control to the community. The community governs platform policies and selects DApps through Guardians—builders who keep full profits with zero commission fees—and users own a portion of the value they create via token incentives. The Seed Vault hardware wallet enables two-touch transactions with fingerprint authentication, eliminating constant transaction signing and delivering the highest crypto security level on mobile devices.
Core innovation: Solana Seeker introduces TEEPIN (Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network), a framework where trust isn’t granted by a central authority but verified cryptographically. SKR provides coordination mechanisms including staking for Guardians to verify devices and audit DApps, supports builders through a zero-commission app store, secures devices with the Seed Vault hardware wallet, and selects apps based on community standards rather than arbitrary “gatekeepers.”
The SKR token is the native asset of the Solana Mobile ecosystem, used for governance, staking, device verification, DApp selection, and ecosystem incentives.
Who created Solana Seeker (SKR)?
Solana Seeker was created by Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs founded by Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko. The project is led by Emmett Hollyer as CEO of Solana Mobile.
