New details emerge after machete attack at NYC's Grand Central Terminal

Authorities were sharing more information on Saturday after a man wielding a machete was shot and killed after stabbing three people at Grand Central Terminal in New York City, according to reports.

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the suspect stabbed a 65-year-old man, a 70-year-old woman and an 84-year-old man at the major transportation hub and tourist location, NBC News reported. All three of the victims were expected to survive.

He was identified as 44-year-old Anthony Griffin.

The suspect, who had an extensive criminal record, apparently advanced towards the officers and was ordered at least 20 times to drop his weapon before police opened fire on him and killed him, CNN Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst John Miller said. He was familiar to the New York Police Department but had no criminal record with NYPD.

The incident does not appear to be connected to terrorism, CNN reported.
