MAGA pundit hit with brutal fact-check from expert: 'Don't know what you're smoking'

A national security expert unloaded on a MAGA pundit during a segment on "Piers Morgan Uncensored" on Wednesday.

Josh Rogin, a foreign policy columnist for The Washington Post, unloaded on Tom Sauer, a military veteran who defended Trump's war in Iran and advocated for sending U.S. troops to the country to recover any enriched uranium that the Iranians buried underground. The segment happened at a time when the Trump administration is facing mounting criticism for its handling of the war.

Sauer's comments didn't sit well with Rogin.

"There's a lot to rebut in that, but let's start with the premise that we had to attack Iran just in case we could imagine a world in which we couldn't attack Iran, which is a pretty circular logic, not to mention a completely unjustified reason for attacking a sovereign nation in any circumstance," Rogin said.

"The second thing is your question of how we get at that nuclear dust that Trump keeps talking about, if that's even possible? Well, there's only one way, and that's through diplomacy and negotiation," Rogin added. "And if anyone thinks that anyone would be stupid enough to send American men and women into some subterranean dungeon which is heavily guarded by Iran's most elite forces to drag a thousand canisters of highly volatile nuclear material while having some sort of firefight, I don't know what you're smoking or what movie you're watching, but that's not a real thing."
