TLDR

  • Polymarket has signed an exclusive partnership with Liga MX, North America’s most popular soccer league
  • The deal includes Genius Sports for official data and integrity monitoring
  • Polymarket has recorded $5.4 billion in soccer trading volume over the past year
  • A new wallet bought over $170,000 in World Cup bets on South Africa beating or drawing Mexico

Polymarket, the prediction market platform, has signed an exclusive deal with Liga MX, the most popular soccer league in North America by TV ratings. The announcement comes days before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off, with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa scheduled for June 12 at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

Liga MX was the most-watched soccer league on U.S. television in 2025, ahead of Major League Soccer and the European Premier League, according to Nielsen.

Genius Sports Joins the Partnership

The deal also brings in Genius Sports, a sports data and integrity-monitoring firm. Genius will supply official league data and integrity infrastructure to Polymarket for Liga MX markets on its U.S. platform.

Polymarket’s cryptocurrency-based market resolution system will stay in place for its international platform.

Integrity has become a focus for prediction markets this year after allegations of fixed basketball games and insider trading on military operations made headlines. Borod said Polymarket will not offer Liga MX markets that raise integrity concerns.

World Cup Betting Activity Already Underway

A newly created crypto wallet has already placed over $170,000 in bets on the Mexico vs. South Africa opening match on Polymarket. The wallet bought $102,000 in shares predicting South Africa would beat Mexico by 1.5 goals, and nearly $70,000 predicting South Africa would draw or beat Mexico outright.

Mexico is ranked around 14th to 15th in FIFA rankings. South Africa sits around 46th. The two teams have met five times in official matches since 1993, with Mexico winning three and drawing two.

Polymarket says it has seen $5.4 billion in soccer trading volume over the past year. The company has also locked in exclusive deals with Major League Baseball and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, in addition to soccer leagues including La Liga, Serie A, and MLS.

Kalshi, Polymarket’s closest competitor, has a joint partnership with the NHL alongside Polymarket.

Traditional sportsbooks like DraftKings and FanDuel parent Flutter have seen their share prices fall this year as prediction markets pull in more users. Both have launched their own prediction market platforms to compete.

Frank Sinatra’s The World We Knew returns to the Jazz Albums and Traditional Jazz Albums charts, showing continued demand for his timeless music. Frank Sinatra performs on his TV special Frank Sinatra: A Man and his Music Bettmann Archive These days on the Billboard charts, Frank Sinatra’s music can always be found on the jazz-specific rankings. While the art he created when he was still working was pop at the time, and later classified as traditional pop, there is no such list for the latter format in America, and so his throwback projects and cuts appear on jazz lists instead. It’s on those charts where Sinatra rebounds this week, and one of his popular projects returns not to one, but two tallies at the same time, helping him increase the total amount of real estate he owns at the moment. Frank Sinatra’s The World We Knew Returns Sinatra’s The World We Knew is a top performer again, if only on the jazz lists. That set rebounds to No. 15 on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart and comes in at No. 20 on the all-encompassing Jazz Albums ranking after not appearing on either roster just last frame. The World We Knew’s All-Time Highs The World We Knew returns close to its all-time peak on both of those rosters. Sinatra’s classic has peaked at No. 11 on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart, just missing out on becoming another top 10 for the crooner. The set climbed all the way to No. 15 on the Jazz Albums tally and has now spent just under two months on the rosters. Frank Sinatra’s Album With Classic Hits Sinatra released The World We Knew in the summer of 1967. The title track, which on the album is actually known as “The World We Knew (Over and…
