It’s been a little more than three years since Fall Out Boy released its latest album, So Much (for) Stardust. The group, which helped popularize emo music more than two decades ago, stopped promoting that set in 2024, and a standalone holiday single titled “It Feels Like Christmas” dropped in 2025. A Record Store Day exclusive release from the band, So Much for (2our) Dust: Live from Madison Square Garden, was released in mid-April, and it becomes a fast, if minor, bestseller in the United Kingdom this week, earning the rockers their first new placement on two charts in 2026.

So Much for (2our) Dust: Live from Madison Square Garden Debuts

So Much for (2our) Dust debuts on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts. Coincidentally, it starts in the same position, at No. 79, on the pair of rankings, which look at the top-selling albums and EPs, regardless of genre or format, as well as the bestselling projects on any physical media, be it CD, cassette, or vinyl, respectively.

From Under the Cork Tree Began the Band’s Chart History

Fall Out Boy earns its milestone tenth winner on the Official Physical Albums chart. The group first landed on that tally just over two decades ago, when From Under the Cork Tree, the group’s breakout set, arrived. Only a few months later, Take This to Your Grave, which helped the rock troupe originally become underground genre favorites, doubled the band’s wins.

American Beauty/American Psycho Became a First Hit

Fall Out Boy has not racked up as many appearances on the Official Albums Sales ranking. That could be because it is more competitive than the Official Physical Albums chart – at least that is usually the case – or perhaps because the group didn’t make it to on the general sales roster until nearly a decade after it first appeared on the Official Physical Albums register.

American Beauty/American Psycho earned Fall Out Boy its first hit on the Official Albums Sales chart in March 2015, and that full-length topped out at No. 18. From Under the Cork Tree, which brought the rockers to the Official Physical Albums tally for the first time, didn’t appear on the most important sales roster until last year, when the classic was reissued to celebrate its twentieth anniversary.

So Much for (2our) Dust Marks the Band’s First Sales Debut in Only Months

So Much for (2our) Dust earns Fall Out Boy its first debut on the Official Albums Sales chart in less than a year. Last October, From Under the Cork Tree launched at No. 93 and held on for just one frame before slipping away.

It’s been three years since the group landed a new hit on the Official Physical Albums chart. So Much (for) Stardust, which nearly shares its name with the group’s latest live recording, entered the physical-only rundown in 2023 and peaked at No. 3.

Infinity on High and Mania Also Peaked at No. 3

As So Much (for) Stardust hit third place, it became, coincidentally, the third release by Fall Out Boy to stall in that position, joining Infinity on High and Mania. So far, Fall Out Boy has not climbed higher than No. 3.

Fall Out Boy’s So Much for (2our) Dust Arrives as a Triple LP

So Much for (2our) Dust was released as a triple LP, which seems very long for a live set, though it does feature 32 tracks. According to the project’s Record Store Day web page, 20,000 copies were made available around the world, and for the moment, it is exclusive to the music industry event.
