The tech giant has introduced Fitbit Air, a compact screenless fitness wearable retailing at $99.99. This release represents the most compact Fitbit product ever created and signals the brand’s first hardware refresh since 2023.

The wearable features a compact, detachable pebble-shaped sensor that fits into interchangeable band options. Without a display, the device remains lightweight and subtle enough for continuous wear throughout day and night.

Fitbit Air monitors continuous heart rate, cardiac rhythm with atrial fibrillation notifications, oxygen saturation levels, baseline heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep cycles, and total sleep time.

The device offers up to seven days of battery performance. A quick five-minute charge delivers a complete day of operation.

Gemini-Powered Fitness Guidance

The wearable is designed to integrate seamlessly with Google Health Coach, an artificial intelligence assistant powered by Google’s Gemini technology. This virtual coach delivers customized fitness programs, dynamic workout suggestions, and recovery analysis.

Each Fitbit Air purchase includes a complimentary three-month subscription to Google Health Premium, providing access to comprehensive AI coaching capabilities. Following the trial period, users must maintain a paid subscription to continue accessing these advanced features.

Google Health Coach is presently in public preview phase and will launch worldwide on May 19.

The device supports both Android and iOS platforms. Users can also synchronize it with a Pixel Watch, alternating between devices while maintaining complete data continuity.

NBA Star Collaboration Edition

The company has collaborated with basketball icon Stephen Curry to create a limited-release special edition. The specially designed Performance Loop band arrives in rye brown and game-day orange color options.

Curry was photographed wearing the device in public appearances during the weeks leading up to the official announcement.

The collaboration edition carries a $129.99 price point and arrives in U.S. retail outlets on May 26. Pre-orders are currently open through the Google Store and Amazon.

The base Fitbit Air model is also accepting pre-orders at $99.99. Replacement bands begin at $34.99 and are available in multiple designs, including a moisture-resistant Active Band and a premium Elevated Modern Band.

The company is marketing Fitbit Air as an alternative to subscription-dependent trackers such as Whoop, which demands an annual commitment ranging from $169 to $349 for any functionality. Fitbit Air operates without requiring a subscription, although complete AI coaching access necessitates Google Health Premium membership.

Wall Street analysts maintain a Strong Buy consensus rating on Alphabet, Google’s parent company, with 28 Buy recommendations and five Hold ratings issued during the previous three months. The consensus price target of $426.44 suggests approximately 8% upside potential from present levels.
