Lady Gaga made pop music history more than a decade ago when she released her single “Born This Way.” The track is an unapologetic love letter to being oneself, living authentically, and to the LGBTQ community, which had always supported the singer on her way up.

Almost 15 years after its release, “Born This Way” remains a hit in the United Kingdom. This week, the smash reaches a new peak position on one tally after the superstar re-released it on vinyl, turning the anthem into a collector’s item.

“Born This Way” Hits a New Chart Peak

“Born This Way” has now spent three weeks on the Official Vinyl Singles chart, which ranks the bestselling songs available on wax in the U.K. All three of its appearances on the tally have been inside the top 10, and impressively, it has climbed to a new high each frame. “Born This Way” opened at No. 6 earlier this month, then lifted to No. 5, and this time around the cut settles at No. 4.

Who Beats Lady Gaga to No. 1?

This week, Gaga is beaten by a trio of debuts on the Official Vinyl Singles chart – but if “Born This Way” can continue to sell as well as it has for nearly a month, she could be looking at her first No. 1 on the tally. This time around, Sparks leads the charge with “Porcupine,” which opens in first place. “London Weekend TV” by Bluetones launches in the runner-up spot, while “My Heart Goes Bang (Get Me to the Doctor)” by Dead or Alive begins its time on the vinyl-only ranking at No. 3.

Which Lady Gaga Songs Have Peaked Higher?

Throughout her career, Gaga has only managed to send four tracks to the Official Vinyl Singles chart, as many of her biggest hits have never been released on the format. “Born This Way” now stands as her second-highest rising entry. It comes in behind only “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” Gaga’s collaboration with The Rolling Stones, which peaked at No. 3. “Born This Way” was recently matched with “Bloody Mary,” which reached No. 5, while “Die with a Smile,” her duet with Bruno Mars, peaked at No. 6.

“Born This Way” Climbs Across Multiple Charts

“Born This Way” appears on multiple rankings in the U.K. this frame, and it’s climbing on both of them simultaneously. In addition to its performance on the Official Vinyl Singles chart, the dance-pop classic also inches from No. 7 to No. 8 on the Official Physical Singles tally. Unlike on the vinyl roster, however, “Born This Way” does not hit a new all-time high on the physical roster, as the cut previously topped out at No. 3.

There’s a major discrepancy when it comes to the longevity of “Born This Way” on both the vinyl and physical rankings. While the song has only spent three weeks on the Official Vinyl Singles chart, it’s now up to 42 stays on the Official Physical Singles roster. That’s due to the fact that Gaga made “Born This Way” available on CD many years before offering it on vinyl.

How Many Top 10 Hits Does Lady Gaga Have?

Gaga’s top 10 record on the Official Vinyl Singles chart remains perfect, but she’s been far more successful on the Official Physical Singles tally throughout her career. The Oscar and Grammy winner has racked up 17 appearances on the latter list, and all but one — “Chillin’,” her early-career collaboration with Wale — have reached the top 10.

Four tracks, “Paparazzi,” “Telephone” with Beyoncé, “Judas,” and “Applause,” have dominated, while several other career-making smashes, like “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “Alejandro,” as well as both “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” and “Die with a Smile,” missed adding to her collection of champions by just one spot.

“Born This Way” and the Album of the Same Name Remain Classics

Gaga released “Born This Way” in 2011. The song arrived in February and instantly became a global success, introducing her full-length album of the same name. The track peaked at No. 3 on the Official Singles chart, the main ranking of the most-consumed songs in the U.K. Born This Way — the album — was another worldwide bestseller as well, and it produced the hits “Judas,” “The Edge of Glory,” “You and I,” “Marry the Night,” and “Bloody Mary,” which went viral in 2022 and became a surprise late-in-life win.

“The Dead Dance,” “Die with a Smile” and “Abracadabra” Chart Together

Half a dozen tracks by Gaga appear on the U.K. charts this frame, spanning several eras of her career. All but one appear on multiple tallies, including “The Dead Dance,” “Die with a Smile,” “Abracadabra,” and “Always Remember Us This Way.” Meanwhile, “Bloody Mary,” another tune from the Born This Way era, reappears on the Official Physical Singles list at No. 58.
