The post An Urgent Update About ‘Gen V’ Season 3 After ‘The Boys’ Ends appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. I maintain that Gen V is better than these recent later seasons of The Boys, and I feel validated by season 2 as we head toward its finale, a difficult run of episodes given that the whole thing had to be totally rewritten after the death of star Chance Perdomo. However, fans hoping for Gen V season 3 should pay attention to The Boys’ head Eric Kripke, who is talking about the future of the show and how it’s all down to numbers. It’s rare for a showrunner to speak this plainly, but clearly, he wants Gen V to continue. Here he is talking to The Wrap: “We have a plan for “Gen V” Season 3, and we’re psyched about it, but we need enough viewers to watch Season 2 to justify Season 3. Now’s the time that they’re paying attention to the numbers. So don’t watch even a year from now. Turn on Prime and watch it now. If enough people watch then we’ll get a Season 3. Same applies to “Vought Rising” Season 1. We have plans for a Season 2, if we can. They’ve been nothing but supportive, and they’re giving us our opportunities. But it’s a business and we also have to deliver. So hopefully the audience shows up.” Vought Rising is the upcoming prequel that takes place decades before the events of The Boys. Gen V will lead into The Boys’ final season, which will take place six months after the events of season 2 of Gen V.

Here he is talking to The Wrap:

Vought Rising is the upcoming prequel that takes place decades before the events of The Boys. Gen V will lead into The Boys’ final season, which will take place six months after the events of season 2 of Gen V.

From a narrative perspective, it would seem difficult to simply end Gen V entirely, given the recent reveal that (spoilers follow) Marie Moreau may be the most powerful Supe on the planet, right alongside Homelander, given that she was created with the same process he was, and she has now demonstrated the ability to not just heal effectively any wound or medical condition, but quite literally bring the dead back to life, as we saw with her sister. Unless Marie is killed in the finale, I don’t see how you could just end that storyline. And you can’t just port her over to The Boys, as that show will be over. And I am fully convinced that Homelander will finally be killed in season 5 of The Boys, which would leave her as the most powerful Supe in the world, without question.

My gut tells me that Gen V season 3 will happen. If it’s cancelled, then Amazon’s The Boys universe relies on untested series going forward like Vought Rising, and the upcoming, apparently still-in-the-works The Boys: Mexico. I think you need an established series like Gen V to carry the torch for those shows, and it is popular. Recently, it’s been the #1 show on Amazon Prime Video, although that does not give us exact viewership numbers. The Boys is too important of a property to let go of completely, similar to what AMC has done with The Walking Dead after the main series ended. But hopefully it goes better than what AMC has done with The Walking Dead. I would expect some official news soon.
