Once again, the KPop Demon Hunters beat back their rivals, the evil Saja Boys, as well as every other popular song in the world, as “Golden,” the most successful tune from the beloved soundtrack, earns another stay at No. 1 on both of Billboard’s global charts. The track has been running the show on and off for months now, and every frame that it lands at No. 1 on either the Billboard Global 200 or Billboard Global Excluding U.S. — or, in most cases, both tallies at the same time — “Golden” advances again and makes history as one of the longest-running leaders ever.

This period is another special one for “Golden,” as it breaks out of one very important tie and once again establishes itself as a historic smash.

“Golden” From KPop Demon Hunters Reaches Sixteen Weeks at No. 1

“Golden” has now ruled both the Billboard Global 200 — which ranks the most consumed songs all around the world, blending streaming activity and sales — and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. – which operates in the same manner but excludes all listening from America – for 16 weeks. The song has not managed that run all in a row, but rather in several stints, as both Blackpink’s “Jump” and Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” have taken turns ruling as well.

As “Golden” reaches its sixteenth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, the song — credited to both the girl group Huntr/x as well as singers Audrey Nuna, Rae Ami, and Ejae — breaks its match with “As It Was” by Harry Styles. The tunes were tied just a few days ago as the third-longest-running winner ever, but now “Golden” holds that distinction entirely on its own, while “As It Was” has been pushed down to fourth place on the all-time roster.

“Golden” already claimed that position on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. last week and makes no movement this frame.

“Golden” Almost Matches Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Milestone

If “Golden” can lead the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. again next week, which seems likely, the track will tie as the second-longest-running No. 1 ever. The KPop Demon Hunters behemoth will be on the same level as Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, who saw “Die With a Smile” run the show for 17 frames between 2024 and 2025.

While “Golden” improves its standing on the all-time longest-running No. 1s list specifically on the Billboard Global 200, next week will be a quieter one. “Die With a Smile” ran the show for 18 moments, so “Golden” needs two more to match that showing.

“Golden” Trails Behind Mariah Carey

The longest-ruling No. 1s on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. racked up 19 weeks in the spotlight, but different cuts made history on the different rosters by hitting that number.

On the Billboard Global 200, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” reached that milestone earlier in 2025. It is likely that Carey’s holiday staple will return to the summit very soon, almost assuredly becoming the first 20-week winner.

On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., “Apt” by Rosé and Bruno Mars also held at No. 1 for 19 weeks. Unlike “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” however, it seems unlikely that the Grammy-nominated smash will bounce back to the summit.

“Golden” Slides on the Billboard Charts in America

In America, “Golden” remains one of the biggest songs, though it does look like the track is starting to descend. The smash falls from No. 1 on both the Streaming Songs and Pop Airplay charts, landing in the runner-up spot. At the same time, however, “Golden” improves to never-before-seen highs on both the Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary tallies, while simultaneously living inside the top 10 on multiple other Billboard lists.
