Vitalik Praises Idea of Linking Grok and X for Truth Optimization

Ethereum (ETH) cofounder Vitalik Buterin has praised the idea of integrating Grok and X. Buterin has defended Musk’s ideology of maximizing truth on X, using his readily available, highly trained, truth-seeking artificial intelligence tool, dubbed Grok.

Buterin Hails Integration of Grok and X

Vitalik Buterin has welcomed the idea of Grok maximizing truthfulness on X. He stated that Grok’s integration with X is equally important as the Community Notes, in the bid to improve truth based on factual data and reasoning.

“The fact that you don’t see ahead of time how Grok will respond is key here – I’ve seen many situations where someone calls on Grok expecting their crazy political belief to be confirmed and Grok comes along and rugs them,” Buterin noted.

A Rising Truth Legacy Via Strong Funding for xAI 

Grok usage has skyrocketed in recent months, backed by notable funding from xAI. According to data from SimilarWeb, Grok recently surpassed its peers – such as ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini – to become the top in average visit duration.

The ideology of maximum truthfulness has been backed by institutional investors who believe in the same principles. As such, Grok is well positioned to gain more usage through the deal with X for being truth-friendly.

Is Grok the Best for the Ethereum Ecosystem?

Potential Deal Brewing

Elon Musk and Vitalik Buterin have developed products that global markets need. With the need for highly-trained AI products on the rise, Buterin may be urging the Ethereum developers to integrate with a maximum truth offering AI such as Grok to catalyze the adoption of web3 protocols and digital assets.

The Ethereum network has received significant support from Musk, potentially for its decentralized and global utility. In his crypto portfolio, Musk once stated that he holds ETH, alongside Bitcoin (BTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE).

“I still own and won’t sell my Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Doge,” Musk posted on X.

The endorsement of Grok by Buterin will heavily influence its adoption by the Ethereum ecosystem in the future.

Unanimous Concerns

Glen Weyl, cofounder of Microsoft Research, and Buterin highlighted glaring concerns on the integration deal between X and Grok.  Weyl pointed out that Grok on X may be propagating truth aligned with Musk’s ideologies. 

According to Weyl, the integration of Grok and X increases the odds for Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) biases in favor of Musk. However, Buterin noted that the deal has an overall improvement on X.

“Definitely worrying. Though there’s a good case that it’s a net improvement to Twitter compared to the other third-party slop that we see, even under assumptions that are very negative about Elon – something something stationary bandit theory,” Buterin replied to Weyl

As such, the Ethereum ecosystem will likely move towards adopting AI technology in a similar manner as Grok and X to catalyze its seamless mainstream global adoption.
