Ondo Finance Makes a Big Bet on Wall Street’s On-Chain Transition

Key Insights:

  • Ondo Finance acquires Oasis Pro in a move aimed at pushing into the US tokenized securities market.
  • A look at how tokenization is expected to change the finance landscape.
  • Ondo TVL ascends to new highs, but volume remains relatively low.

Wall Street is going on-chain, and Ondo Finance has been positioning itself to assist in that transition and perhaps also benefit from the move. The protocol has been particularly building a reputation in the tokenization segment. It just achieved a major milestone that could bolster its position.

Ondo Finance recently announced its strategic acquisition of Oasis Pro Markets LLC. The latter is a digital assets broker licensed by the SEC. The acquisition will reportedly allow Ondo Finance to secure the operating licenses it requires to rapidly expand its services into the U.S market.

Ondo Finance opted to go through the acquisition route rather than the lengthy process of applying for the same licenses. This move is expected to fast–track the protocol’s influence in the rapidly growing U.S tokenized securities market.

Here’s why Ondo Finance is now pushing into the U.S market

To fully understand why Ondo Finance is now targeting the U.S market, it is important to understand why tokenization is the next step. Wall Street will achieve significant benefits by going on-chain.

For starters, blockchain technology is more efficient and more cost-effective. Moreover, tokenization offers a chance to expand market access beyond U.S borders, which could potentially attract more liquidity inflows.

This transition onto on-chain ecosystems makes sense now because it is the U.S is embracing blockchain technology. This includes the recent regulatory frameworks implemented to ensure proper regulation that encourages growth in the sector.

Moreover, the stablecoins act paved the way for easier liquidity flows and blurred lines between blockchain and traditional finance. Some Wall Street firms have been conducting preliminary test runs, indicating that traditional companies are now recognizing the potential efficiencies and opportunities.

For Ondo Finance, the recent acquisition makes it one of the first movers in the segment. It thus has the opportunity to secure its position as one of the infrastructure companies facilitating Wall Street’s transition into WEB3 through tokenized real-world assets.

Venturing into the U.S. market means Ondo Finance can now fully tap into the world’s largest stock market. Note that its platform already allows access to plenty of U.S stocks, but it initially did not offer access to U.S clients. This is expected to change with the Oasis Pro acquisition.

Ondo Finance TVL ventures into new territory

The amount of tokenized real world assets on Ondo Finance is measured as TVL. The latter maintained an aggressive growth pace since early 2023 but things really kicked into high gear in 2025.

For context, Ondo Finance’s lowest TVL figure so far this year was slightly above $548 million in January 2025. That figure has since ballooned to $1.71 billion at the time of observation.

The protocol has achieved significant growth so far, especially in revenue, which has been averaging over $4 million per month for the last 5 months.

Ondo printed $282 million worth of token volume in the last 24 hours. This was the highest daily volume observed in the last 3 weeks. This also reflected positively on the ONDO crypto price action, which exchanged hands at $0.96 after a 5% rally on Monday.

ONDO price RSI and MFI signalled heavy liquidity inflows in the first week of October. Perhaps an indication that it may finally be finding favour with the bulls after printing red monthly candles in August and September.

ONDO price at press time represented a 7000% plus gain from its historic lows. However, it was also discounted by about 55% from its historic top. The RWAs are now starting to gain momentum, which could signal more room for growth in the coming months or years.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
