PANews reported on November 20th that, according to Crypto In America, cryptocurrency lawyer Khurram Dara will challenge New York State's incumbent anti-cryptocurrency Attorney General, Letitia James. Dara officially announced his candidacy on Thursday. He stated that his campaign will end the use of the Attorney General's office as a political weapon, curb excessive regulation, and revitalize New York as a hub for innovation. He also hopes to terminate outcome-based agreements with private law firms, which allow outside lawyers to take a cut of money recovered from lawsuits brought by the Attorney General's office. Under New York State nomination rules, Dara needs to secure 25% of the vote at the Republican National Convention in February 2026, or collect enough petition signatures to win a seat in the primary.
