The real-world asset (RWA) market is gearing up for a major breakout, with Plume CEO Chris Yin predicting the sector could grow 3–5x by 2026. After crossing $35 billion in on-chain value and attracting over 539,000 holders, RWA sectors are finally moving beyond the crypto niche and taking their place in mainstream finance. Yin believes this momentum is still in its early stages, and millions of new users could soon flow into the space.

More Users, More Assets, and Bigger Opportunities

Plume has already seen huge growth this year, recording a 10x rise in RWA holders. Yin expects 2026 to be even bigger, possibly bringing a 25x jump in users as RWAs become more accessible and more attractive. Right now, most RWA activity centers on tokenized U.S. Treasury bills, but Yin says this is about to change. With interest rates expected to drop, users are searching for better returns, which is boosting interest in new on-chain assets like private credit, mineral rights, oil, energy markets, and even GPUs.

Moreover, regulation also plays a big role here. Countries like the U.S. are working on clearer rules for stablecoins and tokenized assets. Yin says this will finally push RWAs out of the “sandbox phase” and into real-world financial use cases. Once demand from major investors and institutions fully shifts to on-chain, the RWA market could accelerate much faster.

Plume Brings Wall Street Tokenization to Crypto

A big milestone for the RWA sector is Plume’s new partnership with Securitize, the leading tokenization platform backed by BlackRock and Morgan Stanley.

Securitize will begin deploying institutional-grade assets on Plume’s Nest staking protocol, allowing users to buy, trade, and earn yield on tokenized investments.

The first products coming to Plume will be Hamilton Lane funds, with more issuers rolling out across 2026. This partnership connects Securitize’s top-tier financial products to Plume’s large base of over 280,000 RWA holders, giving everyday users access to high-quality, real-world investment opportunities.

Plume’s User Base Grows, Capital Expands

Even though Plume holds nearly 50% of all RWA users, it doesn’t rank in the top ten networks by total value because its $200 million in RWAs is spread across many smaller users. Yin says this is actually a sign of healthier and broader adoption. Hence, as part of the new partnership rollout, Plume aims to attract $100 million in fresh capital. Meanwhile, Bitcoin-focused platform Solv plans to invest up to $10 million into Plume’s RWA vaults. Solv CEO Ryan Chow says Bitcoin will soon anchor a new generation of RWA-backed yield products, replacing passive Treasury-based returns for institutions.

With rising adoption, clearer rules, and major Wall Street backing, the RWA sector is heading toward its most transformative year yet.

UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach

The post UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. British crypto holders may soon face a very different landscape as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) moves to expand its regulatory reach in the industry. A new consultation paper outlines how the watchdog intends to apply its rulebook to crypto firms, shaping everything from asset safeguarding to trading platform operation. According to the financial regulator, these proposals would translate into clearer protections for retail investors and stricter oversight of crypto firms. UK FCA plans Until now, UK crypto users mostly encountered the FCA through rules on promotions and anti-money laundering checks. The consultation paper goes much further. It proposes direct oversight of stablecoin issuers, custodians, and crypto-asset trading platforms (CATPs). For investors, that means the wallets, exchanges, and coins they rely on could soon be subject to the same governance and resilience standards as traditional financial institutions. The regulator has also clarified that firms need official authorization before serving customers. This condition should, in theory, reduce the risk of sudden platform failures or unclear accountability. David Geale, the FCA’s executive director of payments and digital finance, said the proposals are designed to strike a balance between innovation and protection. He explained: “We want to develop a sustainable and competitive crypto sector – balancing innovation, market integrity and trust.” Geale noted that while the rules will not eliminate investment risks, they will create consistent standards, helping consumers understand what to expect from registered firms. Why does this matter for crypto holders? The UK regulatory framework shift would provide safer custody of assets, better disclosure of risks, and clearer recourse if something goes wrong. However, the regulator was also frank in its submission, arguing that no rulebook can eliminate the volatility or inherent risks of holding digital assets. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that when consumers choose to invest, they do…
