Securitize, one of the pioneers in tokenization, made headlines with its strategic move that points towards increased integration between traditional finance and DeFi by announcing its collaboration with open-source, scalable blockchain platform Layer 2 blockchain Plume. Securitize, supported by giant financial institutions such as BlackRock and Morgan Stanley, will make use of Plume’s Nest Staking Protocol.
This collaboration aims to tap into Plume’s extensive network of over 280,000 real-world asset (RWA) holders, which, according to reports, is the largest global community of its kind.
The Nest staking protocol will facilitate smooth integration of institutional-grade assets, such as tokenized funds, into Plume’s ecosystem. This means that Securitize’s assets will be able to move, trade, and earn yield within a DeFi regulatory framework. This collaboration represents an evolution in the financial sector, allowing traditional finance and DeFi markets to interconnect.

One of the key elements of this agreement is the level of regulatory enforcement embedded in Securitize’s structure. All assets issued under this partnership will be designed with high standards of regulatory compliance, allowing for perfect transparency and traceability.
The addition of Bluprynt’s KYI verification platform serves to enhance the integrity of this platform and boost its credibility with institutional participants. The inclusion of Securitize’s regulatory standards and Plume’s DeFi infrastructure represents efforts to make regulatory and scalable asset management available in digital capital markets.
Carlos Domingo, Securitize’s CEO and one of its founders, noted the worldwide coverage and transparency that such an agreement will bring, with the ultimate aim of making digital capital markets accessible. The strength of such an agreement does not depend entirely on its assets but on its ability to distribute and manage such tokenized assets.
The first stage of this collaboration will relate to Hamilton Lane’s tokenized funds, with plans to raise $100 million by 2026. The collaboration is also significant in relation to the overall Bitcoin market. Solv Protocol, described as a Bitcoin finance platform, has shown its willingness to support Plume’s RWA vaults with up to $10 million in investments. This is set to open up new avenues regarding yield-bearing Bitcoin and DeFi.
Solv’s CEO, Ryan Chow, quoted Ryan’s thoughts about Bitcoin’s increasing significance in DeFi. As traditional regulatory markets continue to mature, Bitcoin’s role will be indispensable in underpinning new infrastructure developments and driving growth in liquidity and credit markets. The integration of RWA-backed yields has been seen as the next evolution in DeFi’s mainstream adoption, moving from passive to active, yield-earning assets.
This agreement is more than just a merger of platforms, and it represents the beginning of the development of decentralized finance into a full-fledged and scalable part of worldwide financial infrastructure.
