Deribit announced today, November 26, 2025, through social media platform X, that Deribit along with Zodia Custody have upgraded their partnership to make settlement of crypto derivatives trades fully automatic. Earlier, settlements required manual coordination between both sides, which took time and added risk. With the new system, everything happened through an automated API-based workflow and follows a clear rulebook.

Trades now use a “delivery versus payment” setup, which means assets move only when all settlement conditions are met. This reduces the chance of settlement failures and gives institutional trades more safety and transparency when trading on Deribit.

Enhanced Automated Settlement

Deribit, the world’s largest digital assets options exchange, and Zodia Custody, an institution-first digital assets platform that is backed by financial institutions such as Standard Chartered, Northern Trust, and National Australia Bank, have collaborated to deliver off-exchange automated trade settlement. The new system batches trades intraday with balances automatically updated in users’ nominated wallets after each cycle.

All client assets will be securely held in Zodia’s cold, air-gapped custody, fully segregated by client and venue, maintaining strong institutional control while supporting trading at scale.

Interchange Network and Reduced Settlement Risk

Zodia Custody’s Interchange Network works like a safe bridge for big institutional investors. It lets them trade, lend, borrow, and use their crypto across different platforms without actually moving the assets out of custody until the trade is fully settled. The system uses “delivery versus payment (DvP),” which means the crypto and the payment are exchanged at the exact same time. This will remove the risk of one side getting paid while the other side does not deliver.

Everything is recorded on-chain, so clients get full transparency and clear proof on every movement. The network also handles gas fees automatically, making the whole process smoother and more efficient for users.

Institutional-Grade Security and Efficiency

This partnership shows that Zodia Custody is serious about building secure and advanced systems for big institutions to store and settle crypto. With this setup, Deribit users can trade smoothly and with more confidence while still keeping their assets safely locked in a legally protected trust structure.

That means even if something goes wrong in the market, the funds stay secure. The automated settlement system also removed the usual delays and complications that make institutional crypto trading difficult. Overall it gives large traders a safer, faster, and more reliable environment to trade crypto derivatives at scale.

Strategic Impact and Future Outlook

Leaders from both companies stressed how important this upgrade system is for the future of institutional crypto trading. Zodia Custody’s Chief Product Officer explained that the Interchange Network was designed to give big institutions full confidence and control without forcing them to give up custody of their assets.

Deribit’s Chief Commercial Officer added that this upgrade is a major step forward because it brings automated settlement while still keeping Deribit’s strong liquidity and smooth trading experience.

Both companies expect the partnership to grow further and continue adding stronger security and operational efficiency.

Michael Saylor Pushes Digital Capital Narrative At Bitcoin Treasuries Unconference

The post Michael Saylor Pushes Digital Capital Narrative At Bitcoin Treasuries Unconference appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The suitcoiners are in town.  From a low-key, circular podium in the middle of a lavish New York City event hall, Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor took the mic and opened the Bitcoin Treasuries Unconference event. He joked awkwardly about the orange ties, dresses, caps and other merch to the (mostly male) audience of who’s-who in the bitcoin treasury company world.  Once he got onto the regular beat, it was much of the same: calm and relaxed, speaking freely and with confidence, his keynote was heavy on the metaphors and larger historical stories. Treasury companies are like Rockefeller’s Standard Oil in its early years, Michael Saylor said: We’ve just discovered crude oil and now we’re making sense of the myriad ways in which we can use it — the automobile revolution and jet fuel is still well ahead of us.  Established, trillion-dollar companies not using AI because of “security concerns” make them slow and stupid — just like companies and individuals rejecting digital assets now make them poor and weak.  “I’d like to think that we understood our business five years ago; we didn’t.”  We went from a defensive investment into bitcoin, Saylor said, to opportunistic, to strategic, and finally transformational; “only then did we realize that we were different.” Michael Saylor: You Come Into My Financial History House?! Jokes aside, Michael Saylor is very welcome to the warm waters of our financial past. He acquitted himself honorably by invoking the British Consol — though mispronouncing it, and misdating it to the 1780s; Pelham’s consolidation of debts happened in the 1750s and perpetual government debt existed well before then — and comparing it to the gold standard and the future of bitcoin. He’s right that Strategy’s STRC product in many ways imitates the consols; irredeemable, perpetual debt, issued at par, with…
