A Chinese citizen was captured as a prisoner in a condo building in Manila, sent $400,000 in cryptocurrency to armed kidnappers, and was threatened with organ-harvesting and was later freed by the police.
A Chinese citizen spent 19 horrific hours in a condominium located in Manila. The armed kidnappers wanted cryptocurrency and threatened to cut out his organs.
On Friday, January 16, Philippine officials saved the victim. The dramatic action took place in a condominium complex at Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
Desperate Cry for Help Triggers Rescue
At 7:45 AM, the victim sent a distress message to his friend stating that he was held upon by four armed Chinese citizens. After an embassy warning, police undertook a rescue mission.
The friend said, First, he simply told me he was kidnapped and that there were four Chinese with knives. The report was followed by officers rushing to the building.
CCTV indicated that the victim never left the premises. Law enforcers broke in; two suspects were caught, and two others fled during the raid.
Cryptocurrency Extortion Under Knife Threat
Thursday afternoon was the date when four suspects broke into the rented apartment of the victim and demanded one point five million dollars under the pretext of a debt the victim refused to recompense.
The victim explained that they simply seized him and ordered him to give them the cryptocurrency he carried with him. A suspect had access keys and opened the doors for the others.
The victim was found tied up in the master bedroom, and his hands were taped, with bruises on his body, by the police. They retrieved knives, handcuffs, and a belt, which was used to beat them.
P/Col. Joselito De Sesto reported on the scene: they took the tape as he transferred money using the laptop, said the Pasay CPS chief.
The victim paid about $400,000 worth of cryptocurrency, and even more money, about 14,000 dollars cash, but the kidnappers demanded extra payments.

Organ Harvesting Threats Escalate Terror
During the process, the suspects employed extreme intimidation, such as threatening to sell the kidneys of the victim in case the payments were not made, and even human trafficking into Cambodia.
It’s said they would sell my kidneys and all, the victim revealed. Law enforcement officers discovered a bottle of an unidentified injection drug in the trash bin.
According to De Sesto, they injected him when he was not giving out the money. The police are conducting an analysis of the substance to determine whether it is a drug or a poison.
The Anti-Kidnapping team provided an essential source of intelligence; one suspect had previous experience of kidnapping-ransom according to their documentation.
The suspects who were arrested denied all the allegations and said that they were on vacation in the Philippines. They, in turn, charged the victim with owing them money.
Law enforcement brought kidnapping and grave illegal detention accusations based on Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code. The two escaped suspects are on a manhunt.
