PANews reported on January 28 that, according to The Block, Ethereum researcher Thomas Thiery (aka "soispoke") is considering a new mechanism designed to enhance the network's censorship resistance as a core proposal for its next major protocol upgrade (codenamed Hegota).
Thomas Thiery has proposed making the Fork Select Forced Include List (FOCIL) (or EIP-7805) a core feature of Ethereum's upcoming Hegota upgrade, expected to launch later this year after Glamsterdam. FOCIL would allow multiple validators to enforce transaction inclusion, thereby reducing Ethereum's reliance on a centralized block builder.
