One October day in 2019, 25-year-old Wade Wilson went on a killing spree throughout Cape Coral, Florida. Within the span of hours, he brutally murdered two women – Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz. In between, he showed up at his then-girlfriend’s place of work and violently assaulted her. Despite being arrested for a string of violent crimes, Wilson accrued a loyal fanbase online and was dubbed the “Deadpool Killer,” since he shared a name with Marvel character. Wilson was found guilty for the murders of Melton and Ruiz in June 2024, and currently sits on Florida’s death row.
