The first e-learning course focuses on CO2 transcritical booster basics.

MILL VALLEY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#GoNatRefs–The North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council (NASRC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to facilitate the transition to natural refrigerants, today announced the launch of R-TRADE Online Learning, an on-demand e-learning platform for refrigeration technicians. The first online course, “CO2 Basics: Transcritical Booster Systems,” is now open for enrollment.

Built to deliver real-world skills technicians can apply in the field, R-TRADE Online Learning serves as a supplement to NASRC’s hands-on training experiences, including the Natural Refrigerant Training Summit, Faculty Training Program and Technical Training Program. Designed to accommodate technicians’ busy schedules, the platform offers self-paced learning through pre-recorded videos available on desktop, mobile and tablet.

“With R-TRADE Online Learning, we’re giving technicians affordable, on-demand access to education that fits their schedules, allowing them to deepen their knowledge and stay current without disrupting their work,” said Danielle Wright, NASRC executive director.

Taught by NASRC Training Director Rusty Walker, the first course, “CO2 Basics: Transcritical Booster Systems,” lays the foundation for technicians new to CO2 (R-744) and refreshes existing knowledge for experienced professionals. The course’s eight modules cover topics such as CO2 system architectures and terminology, transcritical booster system operations, hands-on procedures and best practices. Students reinforce key concepts through quizzes to earn a certificate of completion.

Enrollment is $150 for individuals, with group rates available for companies. Small businesses and NASRC Member organizations receive a discounted rate. For more information, visit rtrade.learnworlds.com.

Walker, a respected leader in commercial and supermarket refrigeration, delivers training to thousands of technicians nationwide. He has dedicated his entire career to refrigeration, with experience in corporate training and leadership roles, bringing hands-on expertise from his time at Heatcraft and Hillphoenix.

“CO2 Basics: Transcritical Booster Systems” was made possible through funding from the California Air Resources Board’s F-gas Reduction Incentive Program (FRIP).

The R-TRADE Online Learning platform was made possible through funding from the R-TRADE Supporters program, which enables organizations to directly support workforce development initiatives. Supporters include leading retailers Amazon, Albertsons, Costco, Kroger, Walmart and Ahold Delhaize.
