Clicgear has introduced its new 4.5 push cart to the market, emphasizing enhanced storage and tech-forward features aimed at capturing the rapidly growing walking segment of golf.
The largest area of growth in the game following the COVID-19 pandemic has come from youth and young professionals. Golfers under the age of 50 accounted for more than 70 percent of play in the post-pandemic surge, according to Links Magazine.
“We’ve gotten much younger over the last four to five years. If we had one to two walkers on our golf courses, that was a lot. Now we’re probably seeing 10 to 12 a day. Some days it’s even more, especially during springtime and in the fall when the weather’s ideal. More kids are playing now than have ever played. They love walking and the parents love walking with them.”
Ashley Devine, membership marketing director at Greystone, echoed that sentiment.
“The influx of younger golfers is one factor in the rise in walking,” Devine said. “A lot of young executives are joining clubs now because they’re doing a lot of remote work and they have the health and body to be able to walk.”
Built for the Modern Walker
The Clicgear 4.5 is designed to optimize the walking experience by integrating features that reflect how today’s golfers play. Updates include:
- A magnetic strip for rangefinders
- Velcro glove attachment
- Phone holder with built-in sound amplification
- Charging port connectivity for battery packs
- Cooler options
- Adjustable cupholder
With high school, collegiate and amateur events increasingly relying on app-based scoring platforms, quick access to a smartphone has become essential. Clicgear’s updated control center reflects that shift.
“We really obsessed with all the aspects of golf, taking feedback from competitive golfers, elite amateurs to casual players,” said Ryan Patterson, Product Director of Clicgear USA. “Tech is huge in golf these days, so implementing a phone holder that is also an amplification of sound. We have a port too and can hook that to a battery pack all from the control center.”
The Clicgear 4.5 cart incorporates the same collapsable aluminum body and easy to identify folding mechanisms making transportation easy.

Proven Design, Expanded Style
While the 4.5 introduces new technology and storage solutions, the cart maintains Clicgear’s signature compact, collapsible aluminum frame. The three-wheel design folds down into one of the smallest profiles in its class despite accommodating a wide array of accessories.
“Nothing has changed about the profile. We wanted to keep the design and the ethos, the compactness that can last you thousands of rounds,” Patterson said.
Customization remains a key selling point, with 43 available accessories. Base pricing begins at $339.
In addition to the traditional Black, Grey and White colorways, the 4.5 introduces Navy and Pink options — a move Patterson says was inspired by adjacent industries such as automotive design.
“Looking at those adjacent industries and how we brought tonality into play was inspired by the car industry. We have a beautiful stark matte black cart, that is our number one seller, and have five strategic colors,” Patterson said.
As walking continues to trend upward among younger and competitive golfers, Clicgear’s 4.5 appears positioned to meet the evolving needs of a more mobile, tech-driven player.
