President Donald Trump is starting to seem like "he wants to go home early" from work as troubles mount for his administration, according to one analyst.

Michael Popok, founder of the "Legal AF" podcast, argued in a new "hot take" video on Monday that Trump's decision to launch an "excursion" into Iran has caused some serious headaches for his administration. For instance, Popok noted that Trump has faced bipartisan pushback for his decision to coordinate bombing strikes across Iran with Israel. The fallout from the war has also hurt Trump's economy and made his effort to replace Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell much more difficult.

Popok noted that inflation remains above the Federal Reserve's 2% target and that job growth during Trump's second term has been largely flat.

"You would think he's doing this on purpose to go home early. If you lose big time at the midterms and then just come up with some health excuse or other excuse to go home early," Popok said. "This does not look like a person who wants to continue to succeed as president."

Trump's decision to bomb Iran has caused energy prices to spike in the U.S. Since late February, oil prices have been up roughly 38%, and crude oil prices have settled above $100 a barrel on Monday for the first time in almost four years.

Popok played a clip of Powell discussing how the recent shocks to oil prices have impacted the U.S. economy. Powell said monetary policy can't keep pace with the fluctuating demand driven by the price shock, meaning the central bank likely won't cut interest rates anytime soon.

The war in Iran has also stalled the confirmation process of Kevin Warsh, whom Trump has picked to succeed Powell after his term ends in May.
