Canary Capital Launches Spot XRP ETF, $XRPC Ignites Massive Trading Frenzy

Canary Capital has officially pulled the trigger on its highly anticipated spot XRP ETF, $XRPC, and the market is already going wild.

In just its first 30 minutes of trading, the fund recorded a $26 million trading volume, setting the tone for what could be one of 2025’s biggest ETF debuts.

By the end of the full trading day, projections point to a staggering $338 million in total volume, easily surpassing competitors like $BSOL, which clocked in at just $57 million on its own launch day.

The crowd isn’t just watching, they’re diving in headfirst.

A New Chapter for XRP

Launched in 2012, XRP was designed for fast, low-cost global payments. Built on the XRP Ledger, a decentralized blockchain optimized for speed and efficiency, XRP has long been positioned as the “bridge asset” connecting traditional finance to digital liquidity.

While Bitcoin fights to be digital gold and Ethereum powers decentralized finance, XRP’s mission has always been simple, move value fast, cheap, and anywhere in the world.

That same utility narrative is what fuels excitement behind this ETF. For years, XRP’s institutional potential has hovered just out of reach. Now, Canary Capital’s spot ETF finally opens that door, bringing XRP exposure to a much broader range of traditional investors.

The Launch Numbers Tell the Story

It’s rare for a crypto ETF to come out swinging this hard on day one. But $XRPC didn’t waste a second.

  •  Opening price: $40
  •  Current price: $26.57 (according to Nasdaq)
  •  Tokens held: 223.7 million XRP
  •  Fund valuation: $557 million (based on XRP’s current $2.50 price)

That’s a serious opening move, and it puts $XRPC squarely in contention for 2025’s biggest ETF launch.

For the XRP community, this moment feels like redemption. After years of regulatory uncertainty and legal battles, seeing a U.S.-listed spot XRP ETF go live marks a defining shift in the asset’s journey.

It’s not just about one product. It’s about validation.

The ETF listing signals that institutional players are ready to treat XRP as a mature, investable digital asset, not just a speculative coin.

Canary Capital’s Ambition

Canary Capital has built a reputation for spotting opportunities ahead of the curve, and this ETF might be its boldest play yet.

The firm’s Canary XRP ETF (the “Fund”) offers direct exposure to XRP without the need for investors to handle wallets, exchanges, or private keys. That simplicity could be a game-changer for traditional finance participants who’ve been hesitant to enter the crypto space.

And it’s easy to see why the confidence is high. With XRP’s clear use case in cross-border payments and the growing appetite for tokenized assets, $XRPC arrives at a perfect intersection of utility and accessibility.

Ripple Effect Across the Market

The $XRPC launch also sent subtle ripples across the wider crypto market. XRP’s spot price climbed to $2.50, reflecting renewed interest and optimism around the token’s mainstream integration.

Traders are already speculating whether the ETF’s success could spark similar products for other high-utility assets.

While Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs paved the way, XRP’s entry broadens the field, particularly for assets with real-world payment and settlement use cases.

Analysts say it’s a sign that crypto ETFs are evolving beyond store-of-value plays. Instead, they’re starting to represent practical blockchain ecosystems.

Eyes on the Throne

Still, the numbers and sentiment speak for themselves. $XRPC’s first-day performance dwarfed most ETF debuts, and community buzz shows no signs of cooling off.

The XRP community has waited over a decade to see the asset recognized at this level, and Canary’s timing couldn’t be better.

As more traditional investors look for diversified exposure to blockchain ecosystems, $XRPC positions itself as the go-to vehicle for XRP adoption.

The question now is simple: Can it sustain the momentum?

With $557 million already under management, a roaring first-day volume, and the full force of the XRP community behind it, Canary’s $XRPC ETF may well be writing the first page of XRP’s next big chapter.

Which Altcoins Stand to Gain from the SEC’s New ETF Listing Standards?

On Wednesday, the US SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) took a landmark step in crypto regulation, approving generic listing standards for spot crypto ETFs (exchange-traded funds). This new framework eliminates the case-by-case 19b-4 approval process, streamlining the path for multiple digital asset ETFs to enter the market in the coming weeks. Grayscale’s Multi-Crypto Milestone Grayscale secured a first-mover advantage as its Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) received approval under the new listing standards. Products that will be traded under the ticker GDLC include Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Cardano. “Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund $GDLC was just approved for trading along with the Generic Listing Standards. The Grayscale team is working expeditiously to bring the FIRST multi-crypto asset ETP to market with Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Cardano,” wrote Grayscale CEO Peter Mintzberg. The approval marks the US’s first diversified, multi-crypto ETP, signaling a shift toward broader portfolio products rather than single-asset ETFs. Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas explained that around 12–15 cryptocurrencies now qualify for spot ETF consideration. However, this is contingent on the altcoins having established futures trading on Coinbase Derivatives for at least six months. This includes well-known altcoins like Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), and Chainlink (LINK), alongside the majors already included in Grayscale’s GDLC. Altcoins in the Spotlight Amid New Era of ETF Eligibility Several assets have already met the key condition, regulated futures trading on Coinbase. For example, Solana futures launched in February 2024, making the token eligible as of August 19. “The SEC approved generic ETF listing standards. Assets with a regulated futures contract trading for 6 months qualify for a spot ETF. Solana met this criterion on Aug 19, 6 months after SOL futures launched on Coinbase Derivatives,” SolanaFloor indicated. Crypto investors and communities also identified which tokens stand to gain. Chainlink community liaison Zach Rynes highlighted that LINK could soon see its own ETF. He noted that both Bitwise and Grayscale have already filed applications. Meanwhile, the Litecoin Foundation indicated that the new standards provide the regulatory framework for LTC to be listed on US exchanges. Hedera is also in the spotlight, with digital asset investor Mark anticipating an HBAR ETF. Market observers see the decision as a potential turning point for broader adoption, bringing the much-needed clarity and accessibility for investors. At the same time, it boosts confidence in the market’s maturity. The general sentiment is that with the SEC’s approval, the next phase of crypto ETFs is no longer a question of ‘if,’ but ‘when.’ The shift to generic listing standards could expand the US-listed digital asset ETFs roster beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. Such a move would usher in new investment vehicles covering a dozen or more altcoins. This represents the clearest path yet toward mainstream, regulated access to diversified crypto exposure. More importantly, it comes without the friction of direct custody. “We’re gonna be off to the races in a matter of weeks,” ETF analyst James Seyffart quipped.
