  • CertiK unveiled a new framework to measure the security and compliance of corporate crypto holdings.
  • Strategy Inc. (MSTR) earned the highest Skynet Score of 91.8, ranking first for its strong custodial practices, audits, and transparency.
  • The report highlights a shift in corporate crypto management, where firms are now judged less by what they hold and more by how securely they hold it.

Blockchain security firm CertiK has released its 2025 Skynet Digital Asset Treasuries (DAT) report, which introduces a new data-driven framework to measure how securely and responsibly companies manage large crypto holdings. The report highlights a maturing corporate crypto market now facing closer regulatory and investor scrutiny.

Why ‘How You Hold’ Now Matters More Than ‘What You Hold’

CertiK notes that corporate crypto holdings have grown from an experimental strategy into a major financial asset class. Public companies now collectively hold over $130 billion in digital assets on their balance sheets.

As spot crypto ETFs make exposure to digital assets more accessible, investors are focusing less on what companies hold. Instead, they are focusing more on how those assets are managed securely and transparently. The report summarizes this shift: “DATs will be judged not by what they hold, but how they hold it.”

The ‘Five Pillars’ of Treasury Security

CertiK’s framework scores companies across five key areas that reflect operational strength and transparency:

  1. Custodian & Third-Party Diligence
  2. Internal Controls & Operational Security
  3. On-Chain Risk Exposure
  4. Capital Strategy Resilience
  5. Regulatory & Disclosure Posture

The assessment looks at factors like custodian diversification, insider threat mitigation, SOC 2 audit results, wallet security, and public reporting standards.

Strategy Inc. (MSTR) Tops the 2025 Rankings

Strategy Inc. (MSTR) achieved the highest Skynet Score of 91.8, leading the 2025 rankings. CertiK credited the company’s use of regulated custodians, multi-signature wallets, annual SOC 2 audits, and transparent SEC filings for its top performance.

Other high scorers include MARA Holdings (MARA), Metaplanet Inc. (MTPLF), Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company (BSTR), BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), XXI (CEP), CleanSpark Inc. (CLSK), Hut 8 Mining (HUT), SharpLink Gaming (SBET), and Forward Industries (FORD).

The New Market Standard: Security Over Speculation

CertiK’s report highlights several emerging trends shaping the future of corporate digital assets, including the rise of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) and the potential use of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) in treasury operations.

With new regulations like the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) and the U.S. CLARITY Act, company valuations have also changed. Valuations no longer depend only on the size of a firm’s reserves. They now also depend on the strength of its security, compliance, and risk management practices.

BlackRock boosts AI and US equity exposure in $185 billion models

The post BlackRock boosts AI and US equity exposure in $185 billion models appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. BlackRock is steering $185 billion worth of model portfolios deeper into US stocks and artificial intelligence. The decision came this week as the asset manager adjusted its entire model suite, increasing its equity allocation and dumping exposure to international developed markets. The firm now sits 2% overweight on stocks, after money moved between several of its biggest exchange-traded funds. This wasn’t a slow shuffle. Billions flowed across multiple ETFs on Tuesday as BlackRock executed the realignment. The iShares S&P 100 ETF (OEF) alone brought in $3.4 billion, the largest single-day haul in its history. The iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) collected $2.3 billion, while the iShares US Equity Factor Rotation Active ETF (DYNF) added nearly $2 billion. The rebalancing triggered swift inflows and outflows that realigned investor exposure on the back of performance data and macroeconomic outlooks. BlackRock raises equities on strong US earnings The model updates come as BlackRock backs the rally in American stocks, fueled by strong earnings and optimism around rate cuts. In an investment letter obtained by Bloomberg, the firm said US companies have delivered 11% earnings growth since the third quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, earnings across other developed markets barely touched 2%. That gap helped push the decision to drop international holdings in favor of American ones. Michael Gates, lead portfolio manager for BlackRock’s Target Allocation ETF model portfolio suite, said the US market is the only one showing consistency in sales growth, profit delivery, and revisions in analyst forecasts. “The US equity market continues to stand alone in terms of earnings delivery, sales growth and sustainable trends in analyst estimates and revisions,” Michael wrote. He added that non-US developed markets lagged far behind, especially when it came to sales. This week’s changes reflect that position. The move was made ahead of the Federal…
