The post The Latest Update On ‘Gen V’ Season 3 After The Season 2 Finale appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Gen V has ended its second blockbuster season, a show that is at least meant to continue with The Boys ending after season 5. But will it get a season 3? We have some updates on that front that are worth going through. There are no spoilers for the finale in this article because I…haven’t watched it yet. So, there are a number of reasons why season 3 of Gen V is almost guaranteed to happen. First, we start with a quote from creator Eric Kripke about the potential for season 3. “We have a plan for “Gen V” Season 3, and we’re psyched about it, but we need enough viewers to watch Season 2 to justify Season 3. Now’s the time that they’re paying attention to the numbers. So don’t watch even a year from now. Turn on Prime and watch it now. If enough people watch then we’ll get a Season 3. Same applies to “Vought Rising” Season 1. We have plans for a Season 2, if we can. They’ve been nothing but supportive, and they’re giving us our opportunities. But it’s a business and we also have to deliver. So hopefully the audience shows up.” So yeah, it’s good news: 1) The audience showed up. While these numbers are delayed, Nielsen numbers clocked the Gen V season 2 premiere as its biggest weekly streaming audience to date, more than any season 1 episode, including its finale, meaning viewership is growing season to season, which is what Amazon wants to see. It was #8 on the top 10 list behind a bunch of big Netflix shows and more well-established offerings. Solid. 2) Consistency.

So yeah, it’s good news:

1) The audience showed up.

Gen V has been #1 on Amazon’s TV charts for many weeks now, showing that interest has been cemented as the season comes to an end. That indicates the all-important metric of “are people actually finishing the season” is panning out, and the show is likely doing well in that regard.

3) The Boys universe needs a new lead show. It is abundantly clear that Amazon does not want to let go of The Boys universe. There are two more shows on the way, Vought Rising, far along with a lot of casting done, and allegedly The Boys: Mexico, which is supposed to still come together. But heading into a third season, the well-liked, well-watched Gen V is the obvious choice for a lead series going forward. And it could port some surviving Boys characters over, as it has already done in some cameos.

4) Marie. Again, I have not watched the finale, but I assume Marie survives. We are almost certainly entering a season 5 of The Boys where Homelander is finally killed, which would leave Marie as the only “god tier” superhero we know about, and it would seem impossible to simply abort that storyline, and really all of the modern-day Boys universe in favor of the prequel, Vought Rising.

This will happen, mark my words. It’s just a matter of when.
