Telegram Founder Pavel Durov’s Latest Announcement Sent the Toncoin (TON) Price Soaring
Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced a significant shift in direction for the TON ecosystem. According to Durov, Telegram will replace the TON Foundation, becoming the network’s primary driver and also its largest validator.
Under the new strategy, Telegram is expected to place a stronger focus on TON’s technical performance. Accordingly, updates including a new official website for the network, developer tools, and performance improvements will be rolled out within the next 2 to 3 weeks. This move aims to increase TON’s scalability and user experience. The official Toncoin website is also currently in maintenance mode, displaying a message indicating that certain changes have been made.

Following this development, Toncoin experienced an increase of approximately 7% during the day and is currently trading at $1.44 at the time of writing. The altcoin’s total market capitalization has risen to $3.9 billion. However, TON is still trading approximately 82% below its all-time high price.
