Trump snubs one key race in latest barrage of endorsements

President Donald Trump endorsed a barrage of candidates in a key battleground state on Tuesday, but seemed to snub a key race.

In a series of Truth Social posts, Trump endorsed candidates ranging from Vivek Ramaswamy, who is running for Ohio governor as a Republican, to allies like Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and up-and-comers like Eric Conroy. However, he did not endorse a candidate in Ohio's 9th District, a key seat where former Immigration and Customs Enforcement official Madison Sheahan is running.

Some Ohio GOP officials have spoken out against Sheahan's candidacy, arguing that she may prevent the party from picking up the seat, which they have described as a "white whale."

“It is a seat we should win. It is a seat we need to win,” Matt Gorman, a former spokesperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee, told The Atlantic on Monday. “This seat is too important to screw up.”

Trump also did not endorse a candidate in Ohio's 3rd District, where Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) is running against Cleophus Dulaney, a small-business owner running as a Republican.
