Drake Extends His Lead When It Comes To A Unique Chart Record

With every album he releases, Drake inches closer and closer to claiming the most No. 1s of all time on the Billboard Hot 100. The chart ranks the most popular songs around the United States, with sales, streams and airplay determining where a title lands – or if it manages to reach the tally at all.

Drake nearly conquers the entire top 10 this frame with tunes from his latest full-length Iceman, one of three albums he dropped at the same time. As “Janice STFU” becomes his fourteenth historic leader, the superstar also furthers his lead when it comes to one specific Billboard record, one which it is unlikely any other artist wants to claim.

Drake’s “Ran to Atlanta” Misses No. 1 by Just One Space

Drake occupies the highest four spaces on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 as a quartet of tracks debut. Coming in just beneath “Janice STFU” is “Ran to Atlanta,” which also credits hip-hop musicians Future and Molly Santana. With a sweep as impressive as Drake’s, some cut was bound to miss out on ruling by just one space, and this time around, it is “Ran to Atlanta,” which becomes yet another near-miss for the Canadian talent.

Drake Claims His Thirteenth No. 2-Peaking Track

“Ran to Atlanta” is Drake’s lucky – or perhaps unlucky – thirteenth song to top out at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. As the collaboration launches in second place, it helps the Grammy winner extend his lead as the musician with the most No. 2-peaking cuts. The only other artist who has seen double-digit compositions fail to lead the Billboard Hot 100 by a single rung is Taylor Swift, who has landed in the runner-up rung 10 times.

Two Songs from Iceman Have Stalled at No. 2

Iceman has produced 10 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, two of which have peaked at No. 2. In the summer of 2025, nearly a year before the album became available, “What Did I Miss?” reached that spot, but it was unable to conquer the competitive list. That song returns to the chart this frame and sits just outside the uppermost region at No. 15.

Drake Has Scored 10 No. 2 Hits This Decade

Amazingly, Drake has seen 10 songs peak at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in this decade alone. Only three of his smashes that missed out on the ranking’s throne by one slot stalled at No. 2 before 2020. In multiple years – 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2025 – he was disappointed to watch as multiple tracks climbed to that spot (or started there) and then slipped).

Drake Passes Michael Jackson’s Historic Record

Many of those tunes stopped short of running the show on the Billboard Hot 100 as Drake already sat at No. 1, as is the case this week. As “Janice STFU” launches atop the tally, Drake breaks his tie with Michael Jackson and claims the most leaders among solo male acts. He’s now on the same level as both Rihanna and Taylor Swift for the third-most champions of all time. The Beatles continue to sit in first place with an even 20 rulers, and Mariah Carey is just one smash behind the Fab Four. “Janice STFU” also helps Drake become the first artist to debut 10 songs atop the Billboard Hot 100.
