BENGALURU: List of the all-time top scorers at the men’s soccer World Cup after Argentina’s Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Algeria on Tuesday to draw level with Germany’s Miroslav Klose on 16 goals.
Earning his 200th cap, the 38-year-old Messi became the first man to compete in six World Cups and the oldest to score a hat-trick in the tournament’s history — exactly 20 years to the day since his first goal on the global stage.
