PETALING JAYA: Police have launched an investigation into an incident where a man allegedly brandished an object resembling a pistol in a restaurant at Desa Sri Puteri, Desa Petaling, Kuala Lumpur.
Cheras police chief Rosdi Daud said the 31-year-old suspect had also allegedly beaten and threatened the complainant using the object during the incident which occurred at 11.05am on June 9.
“The case is being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and possession of a firearm without a permit,” he said in a statement.
In a separate case, police arrested a former tenant of a house in Bukit Jalil after he damaged a guardhouse in the residential area following dissatisfaction with the management.
Rosdi said the incident occurred on April 23, when the suspect scolded a security guard on duty before damaging the boom gate, the guardhouse’s front window, and a CCTV.
Police arrested the suspect on June 14. He admitted his involvement in the incident and was remanded for two days.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing damage to property.
