President Donald Trump lashed out at a reporter Wednesday while in France when pressed on the tentative peace deal his administration reached with Iran last weekend, the supposed details of which, while not officially released, have leaked and sparked outrage among hawkish figures.
“No, it's not final, it's a memorandum of understanding!” Trump is heard saying while attending the Group of Seven summit in Évian-les-Bains, France.

As reported by CNN, the memorandum of understanding (MOU) suggests that the United States would lift all sanctions against Iran, unfreeze frozen or restricted Iranian funds, and help Iran gain access to a $300 billion development fund. In exchange, Iran would reiterate its vow not to pursue a nuclear weapon and lift all restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz.
As far-right scrutiny grows over the deal, however, the Trump administration has urged critics not to “read too much into the language of the MOU,” while a White House official refuted CNN’s reporting on the deal’s content.
Trump, apparently feeling the growing pushback, insisted that he had not ruled out reigniting the conflict with Iran should it fail to comply with its end of the deal.
“If I don't like it, we'll go back to shooting at 'em, dropping bombs on their head,” Trump said. “If I don't like it – if they don't behave – we'll go right back to dropping bombs right-smack in the middle of their head!”
