PETALING JAYA: A 44‑year‑old woman was charged at the Sepang magistrates’ court today with murdering an Indonesian woman at a condominium in Bandar Sunsuria earlier this month.
Chin Sau Lan was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or imprisonment of between 30 and 40 years, with no fewer than 12 strokes of the rotan if the death penalty is not imposed.
Chin, who is self-employed, is accused of killing the Indonesian woman, identified as Puteri, at a unit in The Olive Condominium, Bandar Sunsuria, at 2.31pm on June 3.
No plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the High Court’s jurisdiction.
Deputy public prosecutor V Luvithaa requested a mention date for the submission of documents.
Magistrate Khairatul Animah Jelani then fixed July 21 for mention.
