The Turkish competition authority has cleared Uber’s acquisition of Getir’s delivery business from Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi wealth fund and controlling shareholder, according to a statement.
Uber agreed in February to buy Getir’s delivery arm, expanding its Turkish footprint.
New York Stock Exchange-listed Uber plans to combine Getir with Turkey’s Trendyol Go. The company said the deal would “support more delivery opportunities for couriers and drive increased demand for restaurants and retailers across Turkey” in a statement in February.
In May last year, Uber agreed to acquire 85 percent of Trendyol Go for $700 million.
Getir agreed to a restructuring in June 2024. Mubadala led a $250 million cash injection and took majority control of its Turkish grocery operations.
