Crypto hackers stole more than $755 million across 83 security breaches in Q2 2026 making it the most active quarter on record by number of incidents, according to data from DefiLlama.

Despite the record 83 attacks, losses remained below the $3.56 billion stolen in Q4 2020, the costliest quarter on record.

Cross-chain bridge vulnerabilities were the biggest source of losses during the quarter, accounting for roughly $351 million in stolen funds.

The largest incidents were

  • a $293 million exploit involving KelpDAO, and
  • a $280 million attack on Drift Protocol,

which together made up more than three-quarters of the quarter’s stolen funds.

Other notable incidents included

  • a $36 million breach at Humanity Protocol,
  • a $10.7 million exploit affecting THORChain, and
  • multiple attacks targeting Aztec Connect and decentralized exchange, Raydium.

The data underscores growing cybersecurity risks across the crypto industry, with bridge infrastructure remaining one of the sector’s most vulnerable targets.
