Wonda Coffee celebrates the football rituals that unite Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR: In Malaysia, football has always been about more than what happens on the pitch. From crowded mamak restaurants and living-room watch parties to spirited debates the morning after, the sport cuts across ages and backgrounds.

The campaign features a television commercial produced with Astro Shaw, starring national footballers Akhyar Rashid, Syafiq Ahmad and Safawi Rasid alongside actor Amir Ahnaf, who reprises his role as Kahar from the film “Kahar: Kapla High Council”.

It also includes “Kisah Di Sebalik Harimau”, a five-part documentary series on Astro Arena that takes viewers beyond match results and headlines to explore the personal journeys of Harimau Malaya players Faisal Halim, Fergus Tierney and Syafiq Ahmad.

The series highlights the sacrifices, challenges and determination that have shaped their paths to representing the nation, offering fans a deeper appreciation of the people behind the jersey.

Beyond the pitch, the campaign extends to radio and digital platforms. Through the “Wonda Football Line” segment on Fly FM, listeners can catch up on key moments from the previous night’s matches, from standout performances to talking points that continue long after the final whistle.

Fans can also participate in social media contests featuring signed Harimau Malaya jerseys and limited-edition merchandise throughout the campaign period.

In collaboration with myNEWS, customers who purchase six cans of Wonda Coffee can redeem a limited-edition “Wonda x Harimau Malaya” magnetic cardholder via the myNEWS app.
