Bersatu candidate Dr Sahruddin Jamal, accompanied by party president Muhyiddin Yassin and hundreds of supporters, arriving at the nomination centre to shouts of ‘Hidup PN’ and ‘Bersatu Demi Johor’.
PAGOH: Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin was among the hundreds of Perikatan Nasional supporters who accompanied the opposition coalition’s candidate, Dr Sahruddin Jamal, during nominations for the state election this morning.
Sahruddin, who is vying for the Bukit Kepong seat, and the group led by Muhyiddin arrived at the nomination centre at the Pagoh sports complex at about 8.50am to shouts of “Hidup PN” and “Bersatu Demi Johor”.
Pakatan Harapan’s candidate C Subramani, was accompanied by deputy unity minister R Yuneswaran and about 60 supporters.
Barisan Nasional’s candidate, Ahmad Syarie Yusof, was also accompanied by hundreds of supporters when he arrived at the nomination centre at 8.55am.
In the last state election, Sahruddin, a two-term assemblyman, won the seat with a 710-vote majority in a four-cornered contest.
Polling will take place on July 11, with early voting fixed for July 7.
