Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci is cautioning Democrats not to dismiss President Donald Trump's recent UFC appearance as mere showmanship, arguing it may signal the start of a "serious November ground game" aimed at a slice of the electorate the party routinely overlooks.
In a post on social media, Scaramucci — who served briefly in Trump's first administration before becoming a vocal critic — sketched out the cultural world he believes Trump instinctively understands and Democrats tend to disdain.

"When somebody says 'Murica' that's not New York City," Scaramucci wrote. "That's the buckle of the Bible Belt."
He went on to describe that America in vivid terms: "Hot dogs, fast food, NASCAR, UFC, tattoo parlors, and oil stains on the uniforms of working class people."
"Trump gets that world and he speaks that language," Scaramucci wrote, before issuing a blunt warning to the opposition: "If Democrats look down their nose at it, they're going to lose 80 to 90 million people."
Scaramucci framed the UFC appearance not as a one-off spectacle but as a calculated political move.
"What he did with the UFC appearance is strategically important," he wrote. "He's pulling low information voters — primarily male — directly into the political theater."
Those voters, Scaramucci noted, are "the people who helped carry him to the presidency last time."
He closed by posing the question he sees as central — and answering it himself.
"The real question is whether that UFC night was just a spectacle or the beginning of a serious November ground game," Scaramucci wrote. "I think we already know the answer."
The remarks are notable coming from Scaramucci, who has spent the better part of Trump's second term needling the president and questioning his fitness. Here, rather than mock, he offered something closer to a strategic alarm — a warning to Trump's opponents that the cultural fluency they dismiss has real electoral muscle behind it, and that writing it off could prove costly heading into the midterms.
