Senate-flix: The ‘war’ within

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Senate had it all this season: leadership coups, a shootout, a walkout, conspiracy theories, rival blocs, and two competing Senate presidents.

It felt like a television series, except it wasn’t fiction.

After the chaos, the new Senate president, Win Gatchalian, said the “Senate-flix” is over and the upper chamber is back to work.

But, with the upcoming impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte and the highly divided Senate, is it really the end of Senate-flix, or will there be a season 2 in this Senate saga?
