JOHOR BAHRU, July 3 — The proposed relocation of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Ladang Sungai Muar in Segamat is currently at the land ownership stage, with the process being handled in collaboration with the Segamat Land and Mines Office.

Segamat Member of Parliament R. Yuneswaran said this was confirmed during an engagement session with the school, which was also attended by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek in Segamat today.

“I wish to express my appreciation to the Ministry of Education for its concern in ensuring that children in Segamat can learn in a safer, more conducive and comfortable environment.

“The Minister’s presence today proves that this matter is being taken seriously and highlights the importance of efforts to relocate the school,” he said in a statement today.

Yuneswaran said that since being elected as Segamat MP in 2022, he has consistently championed the relocation of the school due to safety concerns, its distance from the local community and infrastructure issues.

“The Madani Government remains committed to prioritising education. I will continue to monitor developments on this matter and follow up until the relocation of SJKT Ladang Sungai Muar is successfully carried out,” he said. — Bernama
