BITSTAR Telecom, Inc., an enterprise internet service provider (ISP) backed by listed holding company MRC Allied, Inc., has begun serving enterprise clients in Metro Manila and is planning to expand to other parts of the country.
In a statement on Sunday, Bitstar said it has been serving enterprise customers in the National Capital Region since launching operations on April 15.
The company said it plans to expand beyond Metro Manila but did not disclose a timetable or target locations.
“Digital customer experience ought to be more common for service companies, which is an opportunity for Bitstar to cater to the evolving needs of the modern internet users. We use apps for everything else in our lives, our internet should not be any different,” Bitstar President and Chief Executive Officer Miguel A. Bitanga said.
The company said it aims to offer high-speed internet services to businesses at lower cost as it seeks to compete in Metro Manila’s enterprise telecommunications market.
“Affordability is also important for Bitstar customers because fiber internet is a relative commodity in other countries, but still a luxury for many businesses here,” Mr. Bitanga said.
MRC Allied acquired a controlling stake in Bitstar through its subscription to shares in Bitstar Prime Holdings Inc., as part of the listed company’s expansion into the information and communication technology sector. — Sheldeen Joy Talavera
