Elon Musk attacks the wrong Tom Holland in tirade against 'woke' movie

Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, mistakenly targeted the wrong person while continuing his criticism of Christopher Nolan's film "The Odyssey," (2026).

Nolan's retelling of the Classic has already drawn right-wing backlash over its diverse cast, including Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy.

After COVID skeptic Kevin Bass dismissed a Guardian review calling the film "an absolute triumph," Musk assumed the review was shared by British actor Tom Holland and posted insulting remarks.

However, the Tom Holland who shared the review was actually a British historian, not the actor.

The historian responded to Musk, “Very happy to say it again. The Odyssey is an amazing film, and missing out on seeing it because you think it’s woke or whatever is cutting off your nose to spite your face. Your loss.”

He added, ”My last comment on this whole business (which I hadn’t realized was a lightning rod for an entire culture war) - if you like Nolan’s other films, you will love The Odyssey. If you didn’t like them, then miss it.”

Variety reported the film, which follows Nolan's Oscar-winning “Oppenheimer,” (2023), broke pre-sales records during its first 24 hours.
