He was a relatively new but beloved member of Barstool Sports’ Fore Play golf team. “I think I’d pay off my parents’ house,” Beef said when asked what he would do with the money. The final match went to the 18th hole after Borelli pulled his 3-wood off the tee into tall grass while Dalke sent a massive drive down the center of the fairway. More than 150 yards separated their second shots. On his approach to the green, Borelli hit his shot thin, producing a low bullet that skipped over the putting surface and rolled into the pond behind the green. That mistake led to his team conceding the hole. “The fact that Frankie was even able to bring the club back—I’m proud of him, because I would have just absolutely… my bones would have left my body and I’d be a puddle on the tee box,” said Trent Ryan, Borelli’s co-host. Brad Dalke led Francis Ellis and Cody “Beef” Franke to victory over Paige Spiranac, Frankie Borelli and Malosi Togisala at the Internet Invitational, earning a $1 million grand prize put on by Barstool Sports.

Cody “Beef” Franke broke into tears following the win. After the final hole, the broadcast highlighted his play and participation. Beef would pass away in late October 2025.

The match wasn’t without drama. The lead changed multiple times as the teams played a modified alternate-shot format with three participants on each side. Tensions rose when Spiranac was warned for trampling native grass in a penalty area, potentially improving her team’s lie. Togisala also drew scrutiny for allegedly using a rangefinder with slope enabled.

The tournament was held at Big Cedar Lodge in Hollister, Missouri, featuring Payne’s Valley, Buffalo Ridge and Cliffhanger. The format mixed YouTube and social-media personalities of varying skill levels into teams competing across multiple courses.

The starting field of 48 players was cut in half after each challenge. Games included two-man scramble match play, alternate-shot match play, and three-man alternate-shot team play.

The YouTube series, produced by Bob Does Sports and Fore Play, spanned six episodes. The initially promised $1 million purse increased as sponsor Dave Portnoy added skins games and on-course side bets. Fore Play has already hinted at future editions of the Internet Invitational with even larger prize pools.

The fund’s primary goal is to expose investors to the most significant digital assets in the market without requiring them to buy, store, or secure the coins directly. In July, the SEC delayed its decision to convert GDLC from an OTC fund into an exchange-listed ETP on NYSE Arca, citing further review. However, the latest developments raise investors’ hopes that a multi-asset crypto ETP from Grayscale will soon become a reality. Approval under the Generic Listing Standards will help “streamline the process,” opening the door for more crypto ETPs. Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and ADA investors are the most…
