VeChain Collaborates with 4ocean on Large Ocean Cleanup via Blockchain Technology

Ocean plastic pollution isn’t slowing down, with nearly half a billion pounds entering our waterways every year. VeChain and 4ocean are taking on this challenge together, combining blockchain’s transparency with hands-on environmental work. Their goal is to pull 300,000 pounds of plastic from oceans, rivers, and coastlines in 2025 using the Cleanify app and VeChain’s VeBetter platform to verify every cleanup and reward participant.

Blockchain Powered Verification and Transparency

A groundbreaking partnership was unveiled at a beach cleanup event in Miami, where the UFC Foundation collaborated with VeChain and 4ocean to highlight the role of blockchain technology in environmental conservation. Cleanify harnesses the power of the VeChainThor blockchain, allowing users to effortlessly log their cleanup activities, monitor verified impacts, and reap rewards through an innovative “Clean-to-Earn” model.

The collaboration harnesses blockchain technology to create “Sustainability Proofs,” unchangeable records that offer clear verification of environmental initiatives. Every cleanup documented via Cleanify is meticulously timestamped and securely recorded on VeChain’s ledger, ensuring accountability throughout the entire process. This tackles the challenge of confirming asserted environmental impact, a hurdle that has hindered sustainability efforts.

Alex Schulze, Co-Founder and CEO of 4ocean, highlighted here how VeChain’s technology improving the verification layer, users can see exactly where their efforts are going with their impact and rewards for their efforts. The collaboration has been put together to remove the equivalent of 14.4 million single-use plastic water bottles from the environment within its first year.

Incentivizing Global Participation Through Rewards

Participants can join the official 4ocean community on the platform and complete actions of cleanup from anywhere (beaches, parks, rivers, even their own backyards). Users receive both 4ocean bracelets made from recovered ocean plastic and VeBetter tokens by way of recognition for their efforts. The reward system gives out B3TR tokens for those that carry out verified clean up actions or daily sustainable actions.

The collaboration involves an 11-month program of sustainability sweepstakes that will take place from February to December 2025. In the United States, people who perform three actions can earn signature 4ocean bracelets and people who share their reference codes can obtain premium bracelets if their reference codes complete cleanup activities.

Enterprise Blockchain Driving Real World Impact

VeChain is the blue-chip enterprise blockchain platform, being a leader in sustainability tracking and providing transparency on supply chains. The collaboration between the company and Boston Consulting Group has established a new framework. It makes blockchain technology more accessible to everyday users committed to sustainable living.

VeChain leads the way in sustainability with its innovative and energy-efficient blockchain, VeChainThor, which consumes just 0.04% of the energy used by comparable platforms. This is an innovative approach not only to deal with the environmental concerns associated with blockchain technology but also paves the way for effective solutions to environmental problems. The platform has effectively signed multi-year contracts with the UFC to promote its VeBetter ecosystem.

Conclusion

The partnership between VeChain and 4ocean is an important step in the potential of using blockchain technology to promote environmental conservation initiatives. This initiative merges transparent verification systems with reward mechanisms, establishing a model that can be replicated for blockchain-verified environmental action. As the partnership unfolds into 2025, its ambitious 300,000-pound cleanup goal has the potential to set groundbreaking benchmarks for the way technology firms tackle sustainability issues.

Bitcoin Has Taken Gold’s Role In Today’s World, Eric Trump Says

Eric Trump on Tuesday described Bitcoin as a “modern-day gold,” calling it a liquid store of value that can act as a hedge to real estate and other assets. Related Reading: XRP’s Biggest Rally Yet? Analyst Projects $20+ In October 2025 According to reports, the remark came during a TV appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, tied to the launch of American Bitcoin, the mining and treasury firm he helped start. Company Holdings And Strategy Based on public filings and company summaries, American Bitcoin has accumulated 2,443 BTC on its balance sheet. That stash has been valued in the low hundreds of millions of dollars at recent spot prices. The firm mixes large-scale mining with the goal of holding Bitcoin as a strategic reserve, which it says will help it grow both production and asset holdings over time. Eric Trump’s comments were direct. He told viewers that institutions are treating Bitcoin more like a store of value than a fringe idea, and he warned firms that resist blockchain adoption. The tone was strong at times, and the line about Bitcoin being a modern equivalent of gold was used to frame American Bitcoin’s role as both miner and holder.   Eric Trump has said: bitcoin is modern-day gold — unusual_whales (@unusual_whales) September 16, 2025 How The Company Went Public American Bitcoin moved toward a public listing via an all-stock merger with Gryphon Digital Mining earlier this year, a deal that kept most of the original shareholders in control and positioned the new entity for a Nasdaq debut. Reports show that mining partner Hut 8 holds a large ownership stake, leaving the Trump family and other backers with a minority share. The listing brought fresh attention and capital to the firm as it began trading under the ticker ABTC. Market watchers say the firm’s public debut highlights two trends: mining companies are trying to grow by both producing and holding Bitcoin, and political ties are bringing more headlines to crypto firms. Some analysts point out that holding large amounts of Bitcoin on the balance sheet exposes a company to price swings, while supporters argue it aligns incentives between miners and investors. Supporters praise the prospect of a US-based miner that aims to be transparent and aggressive about building a reserve. Critics point to governance questions, possible conflicts tied to high-profile backers, and the usual risks of a volatile asset being held on corporate balance sheets. Eric Trump’s remark that Bitcoin has taken gold’s role in today’s world reflects both his belief in its value and American Bitcoin’s strategy of mining and holding. Whether that view sticks will depend on how investors and institutions respond in the months ahead. Featured image from Meta, chart from TradingView

Banxico seen cutting rates to 7.50% in September – Reuters

Banxico seen cutting rates to 7.50% in September – Reuters

The post Banxico seen cutting rates to 7.50% in September – Reuters appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. All 24 economists surveyed expect Banxico to lower rates despite inflation ticking up to 3.57% in August. Bank of America notes Banxico could ease more aggressively if Fed cuts continue and Dollar weakness persists. Banco de Mexico (Banxico), Mexico’s central bank is expected to reduce its main reference rate by 25 basis points to 7.50% on September 26, revealed a Reuters poll. Reuters poll shows unanimous expectations for a 25 bps cut, with analysts eyeing further easing into November The survey showed that all 24 economists see Banxico’s cutting rates, as inflation edged slightly up to 3.57% from 3.51% but it remains within the 3% plus or minus 1% range. In the last meeting, the bank cut rates on a 4 to 1 vote split with Deputy Governor Jonathan Heath voting to hold rates unchanged as inflation was well above the 4% threshold in the previous month’s print. Analysts at Bank of America wrote on a note that “Banxico is likely to continue cutting rates well below market expectations as long as the Fed cuts and the US Dollar remains weak.” Recently released data showed that lower than expected growth in Q2 and “relatively” contained inflation last month, justified gradual easing by Banxico. When asked of the date of the Mexican central bank’s reduction, 19 of 24 analysts answered September, with high expectations that another 25-bps cut is expected in November, as said by a majority of 16 economists. Banxico FAQs The Bank of Mexico, also known as Banxico, is the country’s central bank. Its mission is to preserve the value of Mexico’s currency, the Mexican Peso (MXN), and to set the monetary policy. To this end, its main objective is to maintain low and stable inflation within target levels – at or close to its target of 3%, the…

UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach

UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach

The post UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The UK and US are reportedly preparing to deepen cooperation on digital assets, with Britain looking to copy the Trump administration’s crypto-friendly stance in a bid to boost innovation.  UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed on Tuesday how the two nations could strengthen their coordination on crypto, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.  The discussions also involved representatives from crypto companies, including Coinbase, Circle Internet Group and Ripple, with executives from the Bank of America, Barclays and Citi also attending, according to the report. The agreement was made “last-minute” after crypto advocacy groups urged the UK government on Thursday to adopt a more open stance toward the industry, claiming its cautious approach to the sector has left the country lagging in innovation and policy.  Source: Rachel Reeves Deal to include stablecoins, look to unlock adoption Any deal between the countries is likely to include stablecoins, the Financial Times reported, an area of crypto that US President Donald Trump made a policy priority and in which his family has significant business interests. The Financial Times reported on Monday that UK crypto advocacy groups also slammed the Bank of England’s proposal to limit individual stablecoin holdings to between 10,000 British pounds ($13,650) and 20,000 pounds ($27,300), claiming it would be difficult and expensive to implement. UK banks appear to have slowed adoption too, with around 40% of 2,000 recently surveyed crypto investors saying that their banks had either blocked or delayed a payment to a crypto provider.  Many of these actions have been linked to concerns over volatility, fraud and scams. The UK has made some progress on crypto regulation recently, proposing a framework in May that would see crypto exchanges, dealers, and agents treated similarly to traditional finance firms, with…
