PANews reported on January 4th that US President Trump held a press conference regarding the military operation against Venezuela. Trump stated that the US military raided a "heavily guarded military fortress in downtown Caracas" and captured Maduro. He described it as one of the most shocking, effective, and powerful demonstrations of US military strength and capability. Air, land, and sea forces were used in the operation in Venezuela. All Venezuelan military forces have been completely suppressed.
US President Trump stated that the US will continue to manage Venezuela until a safe, proper, and prudent transfer of power is achieved. He also stated that the US is prepared to launch a second attack if necessary. He added that while a second wave of action was previously considered necessary, it may not be.
Trump stated that, as everyone knows, Venezuela's oil industry is severely damaged and has been in a state of complete collapse for a long time. Their production is far below what it should be and has fallen far short of its potential capacity. We will bring in America's largest oil company—the world's largest company—into Venezuela, invest billions of dollars, repair the severely damaged oil infrastructure, and start creating wealth for the country.
