Hyperstacks, a Philippine fintech infrastructure company, has secured US$500,000 (approximately PHP 30 million) in funding from the ALAB Group to expand its platform capabilities.

This investment represents the first close of the company’s current fundraising efforts as it targets up to US$3 million in total seed funding.

Founded in Cagayan de Oro City, Hyperstacks provides API-driven infrastructure that enables banks to participate directly in national real-time payment systems like InstaPay and PESONet.

The company initially focused on assisting rural and thrift banks, which often face exclusion from payment networks due to legacy systems and high integration costs.

Last year, Hyperstacks expanded its client base to include digital-centric banks, commercial banks, and electronic money issuers.

The newly raised capital will be used to scale the firm’s payments infrastructure and increase its bank onboarding capacity.

Additionally, Hyperstacks intends to accelerate its transition toward building robust open banking capabilities, including systems for data sharing and third-party integrations.

The funding round was led by Angelo Raymundo Valencia of ALAB Group, a serial entrepreneur and former corporate executive.

The investment follows Hyperstacks’ report of processing over PHP 5 billion in digital payment transactions to date.

Since 2020, the company has enabled more than 10 banks to improve their digital competitiveness and has onboarded five direct InstaPay participants.

Previously, Hyperstacks raised US$1 million in a 2021 angel round and received grant support from the Department of Science and Technology.

The company is currently engaging with venture capital firms to complete its targeted seed round.
