IRYS Airdrop Hit by Manipulation Claims

IRYS Airdrop Hit by Manipulation Claims

The post IRYS Airdrop Hit by Manipulation Claims appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. 900 new Bitget-funded wallets claimed 20% of the IRYS airdrop. Users appreciate the airdrop but worry about growing manipulation claims. aPriori faced a large Sybil attack involving thousands of connected wallets. The IRYS airdrop, one of the most talked-about token launches this month, is now under scrutiny after on-chain analytics platform Bubblemaps published findings hinting that a large portion of the distribution may have been claimed by coordinated Sybil wallets.  They also shared new data showing that for 38 past tokens with major wallet clustering issues, more than half of the project teams listed the United States as their location, followed by Europe and India.  Unusual Wallet Activity Before Launch According to Bubblemaps, suspicious activity began one day before the IRYS airdrop went live. The platform reported that 900 new wallets were funded by crypto exchange Bitget within tight time windows. Each wallet showed the same three traits: No previous on-chain history Received nearly identical amounts of ETH Claimed the IRYS airdrop immediately at launch This cluster alone reportedly claimed around 20% of the entire airdrop supply. Bubblemaps also identified 20 separate funding batches, each sending ETH to about 50 wallets between November 21 and 24. All of these wallets displayed the same behavior pattern. Related: Key Token Unlocks To Watch For In December, List Unveiled Tokens Moved and Sent to Bitget Bubblemaps found that about 500 wallets linked to the suspicious clusters moved all their IRYS tokens to fresh wallets and then sent them to Bitget.  Around $4 million worth of tokens has already reached the exchange, but Bubblemaps says there is still no evidence connecting the IRYS team to these wallets. The investigation is ongoing through Bubblemaps’ Intel Desk, where the community can vote to bring the case more attention. Community members have also reacted to the latest…

aPriori Dismisses Insider Airdrop, Leaving Key Questions Unanswered

The post aPriori Dismisses Insider Airdrop, Leaving Key Questions Unanswered appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Web3 startup aPriori said Friday that suspicious activity tied to its recent airdrop was not connected to its team, following investor concerns that a single entity claimed an outsized portion of the token distribution. A mysterious entity claimed about 60% of the recent aPriori (APR) token airdrop across 14,000 interconnected cryptocurrency wallets, according to blockchain analytics platform Bubblemaps. The pattern resembles a Sybil-style farming operation, where one actor uses multiple wallets to maximize rewards. APriori lowered eligibility requirements for its Monad Mainnet airdrop in an effort to reward “genuine users,” but said Friday it found “no evidence that anyone on the contributing team or from the foundation has claimed the airdrop.” Cointelegraph was unable to verify who controls the wallet cluster and contacted aPriori for more details. Source: aPriori Bubblemaps CEO Nick Vaiman said the project’s initial response appeared “dismissive,” adding that aPriori suggested a leak might have enabled someone to farm the airdrop. “They’re saying there was a leak and someone used that info,” Vaiman told Cointelegraph. APriori is a San Francisco-based company founded in 2023. In August, aPriori raised $20 million to expand its trading infrastructure platform, with participation from Pantera Capital, HashKey Capital and Primitive Ventures among others, reaching $30 million in total funding. The startup has also increased its unlock on its airdrop allocation from 12% to 15%, meaning that users can claim 3% more of their airdrop allocation when the Monad mainnet goes live on Nov. 24 The remaining 85% will be claimable six months after the mainnet launch, according to aPriori’s updated…

aPriori denies insider involvement as coordinated cluster captures 80% of airdrop

Web3 startup aPriori on Friday rejected accusations that members of its team were part of a sybil attack on the project’s October airdrop, after blockchain investigators Bubblemaps and ZachXBT observed a coordinated cluster of wallets securing 60% of the distribution.  The YZi Labs-backed project’s APR token genesis airdrop in late October was meant to reward […]

aPriori responds to witchcraft allegations: No evidence found; will increase $APR airdrop on Monad mainnet launch day.

PANews reported on November 21st that, according to an official announcement from aPriori, regarding community discussions about a possible Sybil attack during the $APR airdrop, the project team stated that no evidence has been found of team members or the foundation receiving the airdrop. To incentivize genuine users, aPriori announced an additional $APR airdrop on the Monad mainnet launch day, distributed based on community social contributions, with no lock-up restrictions. Existing holders can bridge $APR on the mainnet launch day, and the airdrop threshold has been lowered to benefit long-term followers.

Monad’s star project aPriori faces airdrop scandal days before mainnet launch

The post Monad’s star project aPriori faces airdrop scandal days before mainnet launch appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Journalist Posted: November 11, 2025 Key Takeaways What happened with the aPriori airdrop? On-chain data revealed that newly created wallets received 60% of aPriori’s $APR token distribution on 23 October. How does this scandal affect Monad’s upcoming mainnet launch? The controversy threatens Monad’s mainnet launch and $MON token sale on Coinbase because aPriori was designed to handle $MON staking. Monad’s highly anticipated mainnet launch faces its first major crisis.  aPriori, a $30 million-funded liquid staking protocol set to launch as a Day 1 application, now stands accused of orchestrating one of crypto’s most blatant insider airdrops. The dump that rocked Monad Blockchain analytics firms Bubblemaps and Lookonchain exposed suspicious wallet activity surrounding aPriori’s $APR token distribution on 23 October.  On-chain data, as of 11 November, reveals that 14,000 newly created wallets claimed 60% of the total airdrop allocation. The data shows that the wallets mysteriously appeared just days before the public claim window opened. Source: Bubblemaps These wallets followed an identical pattern. They claimed their tokens, dumped them immediately, and went silent. $APR’s market cap crashed from $300 million to $93 million within weeks—a devastating 69% collapse that wiped out millions in value.  As of this writing, the market capitalization is approximately $57 million, according to CoinMarketCap data. “Insiders farmed the drop and left real users with crumbs,” community member @doge9899 wrote on X. “aPriori locked small allocations behind vesting cliffs while the big bags walked free.” Source: X The timing couldn’t be worse for Monad. The Ethereum rival recently announced its mainnet launch for 24 November 24, with a $MON token public sale scheduled for 17 November on Coinbase at $0.025 per token.  Radio silence fuels the fire aPriori’s response amplifies community frustration. The team has gone completely silent since the scandal broke.  Founder Ray Song hasn’t posted on…

The aPriori airdrop appears to have been hit by a Sybil attack; a single cluster claimed approximately 80% of the airdropped tokens on the BNB chain.

PANews reported on November 4th, citing DL News, that Apriori, a trading infrastructure startup backed by YZi Labs, is facing scrutiny due to on-chain records indicating suspicious activity in its recent token airdrop. Approximately 80% of the APR airdrop tokens on the BNB chain were claimed by a single cluster of over 5,800 wallets. This behavior exhibits all the characteristics of an industrial-grade Sybil attack, where attackers deploy multiple wallets to repeatedly claim airdrops. The timing of the activity is also highly suspicious, as the wallet cluster was set up before the airdrop and its eligibility requirements were made public. Apriori and its founder, Ray Song, did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
