โทเคโนมิกส์ Bonk (BONK)

Bonk (BONK) is a community-driven utility token built on the Solana blockchain, designed to serve as a social layer and utility asset across a wide range of decentralized applications (dApps). Launched on December 25, 2022, the project aims to revitalize the Solana ecosystem by providing a fair distribution model and deep integrations in DeFi, gaming, and NFTs.

Issuance Mechanism

BONK was launched with a fixed maximum supply of 100 trillion tokens. Unlike many projects that conduct private or public sales, BONK had no Initial Coin Offering (ICO) or presale. Instead, the primary issuance mechanism was a massive community airdrop.

• Initial Supply: 100,000,000,000,000 BONK.
• Current Maximum Supply: Approximately 93.56 trillion (as of January 31, 2024), following various burn events.
• Token Standard: Primarily an SPL token on Solana, though it has been bridged to Ethereum (ERC-20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), Polygon (MRC-20), and Arbitrum (ArbERC-20).

Allocation Mechanism

The initial distribution of BONK was heavily weighted toward the Solana community to minimize the influence of large "whales" and promote decentralized growth. 50% of the total supply was distributed via airdrop to various ecosystem participants.

Usage and Incentive Mechanism

BONK is integrated into over 130 protocols, providing various utilities and incentives for holders:

• Liquidity Provisioning: Users can pair BONK with other assets (e.g., SOL or USDC) in liquidity pools on BonkSwap. LPs earn a pro-rata share of transaction fees. As of early 2024, advertised APYs for these pools ranged from approximately 23.43% to 43.36%.
• Staking Rewards: Tokenholders providing liquidity to incentivized pools receive esBONK rewards. Approximately 55.56 million esBONK tokens are distributed daily to these participants.
• Gaming and Trading: BONK is used in "Bonk or Bust," a binary options trading game where users predict the SOL/USD price ratio. It is also integrated into sportsbooks like BonkBets and fitness apps like Moonwalk.
• NFT Utility: BONK can be used to create and mint NFT art collectibles, with some platforms requiring a fee of 1 BONK per NFT.
• Buyback and Burn: The project employs a deflationary mechanism through BonkBot, a Telegram trading bot. BonkBot charges a 1.00% trading fee, 100% of which is used to buy back BONK. Of the repurchased tokens, 10% are instantly burned, while the remainder is distributed to the team, referrals, community contributions, and the BonkDAO multisig.

Locking and Unlocking Mechanisms

The project utilizes specific vesting and locking schedules to ensure long-term alignment among contributors and participants:

• Early Contributor Vesting: The 21% allocated to early contributors is subject to a 3-year linear vesting period that commenced on January 1, 2023.
• esBONK Unlocking: esBONK earned through liquidity provisioning is not immediately liquid. It must be staked on BonkSwap to linearly unlock BONK tokens at a 1:1 ratio over a 365-day period.
• BonkRewards Locking: Users can lock their BONK tokens in the BonkRewards pool to receive a percentage of fees collected by the BONK ecosystem.
• Liquidity Locking: At launch, a significant portion of liquidity was locked on decentralized exchanges to prevent "rug pulls" and provide security to early participants.

Governance

While the project emphasizes community, core development remains under the project team. Governance is primarily handled through the BonkDAO, which manages the treasury via a Realms instance. As of January 2024, tokenholders do not have direct voting rights on protocol-wide technical upgrades, but the DAO council members vote on treasury allocations and community initiatives.
