The post The 10 Most Popular Horror Movies This Halloween Are Surprising appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. We are just one day away from Halloween, and all this month, people have turned to their favorite streaming services to watch horror movies. Now, we know what they picked the most, courtesy of a new list from analyst site JustWatch, and I am pretty surprised by the results. Here’s the list, along with where you can stream them: The Substance The Substance 1) The Substance (89% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on HBO Max) – You don’t see Oscar-nominated horror movies all that often (though there is one other one that clearly will be on this list), and this is the best body horror film in recent memory. 2) Talk to Me (94% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on HBO Max, Paramount+) – Breaking out of the Exorcist mold, Talk to Me is a modern possession flick that makes channeling spirits a party game. I love this movie. 3) 28 Days Later (87% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on Netflix) – You read that right, this is not 28 Years Later, the new one, this is the original from 2002, which until recently, couldn’t be watched legally anywhere online. This is far and away the oldest movie on this list. 4) Longlegs (86% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on Hulu) – I am going to declare this the worst movie on this list, even if its score isn’t the lowest. I just genuinely did not like it, which is not something I can say about any other movie here. 5) The Menu (88% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on Hulu, Paramount+) – But The Menu, by contrast, is one of my favorites with an incredibly unique concept and an amazing cast that results in one of the craziest endings of any movie here. 6) Sinners (97% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on HBO Max) – This is about to line up… The post The 10 Most Popular Horror Movies This Halloween Are Surprising appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. We are just one day away from Halloween, and all this month, people have turned to their favorite streaming services to watch horror movies. Now, we know what they picked the most, courtesy of a new list from analyst site JustWatch, and I am pretty surprised by the results.

Here’s the list, along with where you can stream them:

The Substance

The Substance

1) The Substance (89% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on HBO Max) – You don’t see Oscar-nominated horror movies all that often (though there is one other one that clearly will be on this list), and this is the best body horror film in recent memory.

6) Sinners (97% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on HBO Max) – This is about to line up a bunch of Oscar nominations, if not wins, and is one of the best vampire movies ever made. You should have seen it in IMAX, but at least you can watch it now.

Late Night with the Devil

Late Night with the Devil

7) Late Night with the Devil (97% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on Hulu, Paramount+) – I think I’m going to declare this the craziest movie on the list, both in concept and execution. The enigmatic David Dastmalchian shines here.

8) Pearl (93% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on HBO Max) – This and X are the only two movies from one series on this list. The Mia Goth murder features span different time periods, and I would agree that Pearl is probably the best, even if X is one tick higher. MaXXXine, the third film, did not make the list, which I think is warranted.

9) Nope (84% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on Peacock) – The three year old Nope is best left mostly a mystery, but it creates one of the most insane “villains” you’ve ever seen in a horror movie. It’s best left as a surprise.

10) X (94% Rotten Tomatoes, stream on HBO Max) – This was the first film in the X trilogy, and in addition to Mia Goth, stars a pre-Wednesday Addams Jenna Ortega. I highly recommend it, as do critics.

You can’t go wrong with any of these. Except Longlegs, you can go wrong with Longlegs. If you’re only going to pick a few, I recommend Talk to Me, Sinners, The Menu and Late Night with the Devil.

Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.

Live Nation CEO says demand is unmistakable, concert tickets are underpriced

The post Live Nation CEO says demand is unmistakable, concert tickets are underpriced appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and Smith Entertainment Group CEO Ryan Smith said this week live events are more central than ever to culture and commerce in a post-pandemic world. The executives spoke at CNBC Sport and Boardroom’s Game Plan conference on Tuesday, saying the demand for in-person events has been unmistakable. “No matter what you bring to that table that day, you unite around that one shared experience,” Rapino said. “For those two hours, I tend to drop whatever baggage I have and have a shared moment.” According to Goldman Sachs, the live music industry is expected to grow at a 7.2% compounded annual rate through 2030, fueled by millennials and Gen Z. Smith bought the Utah Jazz in 2020 and launched a new NHL franchise in the state in 2024. “In sports, we’re really media companies,” Smith said. “We’ve got talent, we’ve got distribution. We’re putting on a show or a wedding or something every night.” Get the CNBC Sport newsletter directly to your inbox The CNBC Sport newsletter with Alex Sherman brings you the biggest news and exclusive interviews from the worlds of sports business and media, delivered weekly to your inbox. With streaming revenue dwarfed by touring income, live shows have become one of artists’ primary sources of revenue. “The artist is going to make 98% of their money from the show,” he said. “We just did Beyonce’s tour. She’s got 62 transport trucks outside. That’s a Super Bowl she’s putting on every night.” Despite headlines about rising ticket prices, Rapino argued that concerts are still underpriced compared to sporting events. “In sports, I joke it’s like a badge of honor to spend 70 grand for Knicks courtside,” Rapino said.…
