Marjorie Taylor Greene's harsh Trump criticism highlights GOP's larger problem: analyst

Political analyst David Pakman argues the Republican Party faces a problem larger than President Donald Trump himself, highlighting recent critical comments from Marjorie Taylor Greene and former GOP Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

Greene, once a prominent Trump ally, questioned Trump's mental capacity in a recent interview, stating his rhetoric has been "shocking to many Americans and people around the world."

Greene also appeared on CNN, criticizing Trump's Truth Social post about Iran, specifically bringing attention to one where the president suggested, "a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again." To which the representative called for the 25th Amendment and questioned Trump's mental stability.

Pakman argues Greene's shift in rhetoric reveals the GOP's larger problem, noting that Republicans who recognize issues with Trump remain silent instead of speaking out.

"Whether it's about Trump's authoritarianism or the cognitive stuff, they are seen as the exception. Now, they may not be the majority of Republicans, but there are a lot of Republicans who believe the exact same thing because they see the exact same thing," wrote Parkman.
